A few months ago I was driving along with my system on. All the sudden, the music cut out and there was a piercing static coming from the speakers. Even when i turned the volume down there was still the same level of static. Im not sure if a wire came lose all the sudden or the amp blew or subs? I listened to see if there was any noise coming from the subs and there was. I was checkin around at a few places and they want to charge me like $70 just to look at it. Any help is appreciated...Thanks!!!

Well Im pretty sure it cant be the head unit cause after I unplugged everything my head unit works just fine. And my system was hooked up for about 7 months before this...

I've been doing electronics work for many years and this sounds like a blown component in the power amp to me. It could be a failure in the head unit.

If you don't have a friend who can check it out, you're going to have to take it to a service location.

definatly a short somewhere.. check to see that your RCA cables are plugged in tightly to your head unit. If all fails you can try to re-wire you system, if it's still there, something is blown.

Check the wiring over real close from end to end. You have a direct short somewhere.

either your head unit is fried, or a wire is touching something that it shouldn't be, mabe even connected wrong. i hope you find the problem,
