It depends how old the younger person is. 15 and 35 is NOT ok. 30 and 50 is. Most people are about as mature as they're going to get by 25, and age differences matter less and less as you get older. However you still have generational differences to think about, like values and tastes, but if you can get past these things I think it can work. Just bear in mind when you're 50, they'll be 70, so you'll have to deal with them dying at some point if you get married.

An age gap of about two generations is not promising for a couple trying to get involved in a serious relationship. After the sex, what do you have in common to sustain the relationship? Remember you have a 20 year difference between your life experiences than your intended partner's life experiences. It may last for a little while, but the odds are NOT in your favor.

Presently I'm with someone who is 15 years older than me. It's up to you and the person you're interested in. No one can tell you if it will work or not, besides there is one way to find out, just try.

I've been with me 20+ years older than me, and its been fine. But I've had friends who its just been bad for them. How old are you? It really does depend, I know this will sound patronising, but if you are still in your teens I wouldn't recommend it. These are your formative years and you owe it to yourself to try lots of things, and become who you want to become. If you are older and mature, then I would go for it. Don't worry about peoples reactions, these will pass over time. Just make sure you listen to your heart and do what is right for you.

As long as the younger person was at a legal age. Might be better to go for someone there own age though.

age does not matter as long as you are both mature and you are both over 21.my husband is 16 years younger than me, we have been together 14 years and even made it through losing my son in 1998. we have nothing in common he likes heavy metal, i like country I love to read true life stories and he likes sci fi but we get along great give it a shot what do you have to lose

Well I think personally it all depends on if you really have serious feelings towards this person and how much respect he/she has for you as a person. If you think they are using you if you are younger (especially if you are a preteen or teen you get very easily influenced and you are more vulnerable) then them, you need to find someone else

If your into that sort of thing. But think about the future, if you are planning on making the relationship last that long. When your 60, they'll be 80.
