*Further to G K's point - Forgive me for the wording of my question - I understand that there are 2 sides that have been trained to hate & kill by their loving parents & friends involved in this conflict - I personally do not expect an end to this conflict, ever, and was only asking a question - I see by your anger, that my fears/opinion is correct...

Why are you asking the question as if Hizbolla does not have a role to play in this conflict? If youre going 2 argue like that then you should know that this conflict started because Lebanon did not meet the demands of UN Resolution 1559, which required them to disarm and remove Hizbolla from the south of Lebanon. They did not do this and for 6 years Hizbolla have been arming themselves and preparing for what they are doing now. The word resolution comes from "resolve", but when was the last time a UN resolution actually resolved anything? Who knows what the odds are. Probably not very high, but not because Israel is a tyrant, but because any "Resolution" that the UN will propse will only ever scratch the surface of the problem. The insentives of both sides is too strong to just stop fighting. Hizbolla wants to destroy Israel. And Israel wants to defend herself from people who openly proclaim that they do not want peace, or to live side by side. How can there be such a simple "resolution" to this?

In answer to Azary1010 why did Israel go into Lebanon in the first place because Hizbollah kidnapped 2 soliders from Israel land and to start a conflict as Hizbollah wanted to have a go thats why they had so many missiles ready in place.

Well your question shows realistic insight on your part.

Perhaps some day the forever fighting nations of the middle east will notice that their more peaceful brethren have economically left them in the dirt. When they truly want a better life for their children more than to kill neighbors who are not like them, perhaps then things will change.

1,000,000,000,000,000/1 - the airstrikes are accurate

1,000,000/1 - Israel and Lebanon shake hands and help with rebuilding each other's countries

1,000/1 - The bombing stops and prisoners are returned

100/1 - no ground offensive

10/1 - the fighting will continue and more innocent civilians will lose their lives in a stupid conflict
