To me God is Creator of the Universe.

It doesn't matter what God is "to me" because then I'm just creating my own god who is nothing but an idea and is therefore powerless and really worth nothing.

The living God Who created the universe and everything in it from nothing at all exists quite apart from anything I think about Him. Reality is not affected by my perception of it, after all. If I want to get to know Him as He really is (the only worthwhile way to get to know anyone, really) I need to read the Bible and see Who He really is.

Speaking to Him and listening for His answers -- once all the other voices in one's own head are drowned out -- is also a good way to get to know Him. Just make sure that what you're hearing fits with what He's said about Himself. Otherwise, you're probably making it up in your own mind. Anything you make up about Him doesn't affect Who He is in the slightest. You can create your own god if you want, but it won't be of any help when you finally meet the real God -- Whom you will have insulted by trying to create your own god anyway. Learn Who He is before you go to meet Him. That's your best hope.

God is the father, son, and the holy ghost that created us all. No matter what we learn in class about organisms and cells. There had to be something or some one that created all of those things. And that was God! Some people believe that God is a thing. He Is a person. God is good. Without God there would be pure evil in the world. He is love.

When I was a child the preacher at our church said that we walk in Gods image.

I'm glad you're asking, Black Atheist. I was the one that chose to answer your question as my first-ever answer because I thought that it would be important to God.

To me, God is like a parent. He loves us unconditionally, and is just waiting for the day when we realize all that he does for us.

God is a feeling of contentment with what I have, and of inner peace. God tells me that everything in my life will be okay because I don't HAVE to understand everything. All I have to do is trust that he is there, trust that there is a higher purpose.

God is extremely sad about the affairs of the world, and about how people die and are in poverty. But he believes that if we see our fellow neighbor suffering, WE are supposed to act and help them with their problems. God's agenda deals with the soul, not with the body. He knows that although people may be suffering for a little while on earth, he will give them the ultimate reward in Heaven. However, if we pray to God in his son's name and fully believe that our request will be answered, as long as it is noble and honest, he will do it. If it is not answered, then we are at fault because we had doubts.

God DOES know that we have doubts. Every single Christian has doubted the bible, doubted God. It is a normal thing, because we are rational, thinking human beings. But that's why we have to have faith.

Like a parent, he must have punishment for people who turn their backs on him, but believe me, it is the LAST thing he wants to do.

God is waiting and hoping with a broken heart that everyone will come back to him...that we will have Faith. Even if it's the smallest amount...it's a start. If you ask him, he will help you.
God bless you as you seek the Lord.

Creator of the universe, of all souls, of all that IS.
Also, God is the ultimate form of perfection...God is perfect. God is all love. God isn't the mean God people have made him out to be because God understands everything, evrey little detail about every single person to have walked this earth, to walk it now, and who will walk it.

God to me is love. He loved me so much to save my life by allowing His Son Jesus to die on the Cross for the whole entire world's sins. God loves us enough to wake us up everyday, give us breath, give shelter, food, a right mind. When a person loves you they do A LOT of things for you. To me God is love. If God wasn't love, there would be no us. God bless you Black Atheist. I hope you find the right answer.

To me, God is a Germanic name for deified reference ("reverence") to the unitary concept of deity —most commonly described as an intelligent consciousness of infinite spiritual substance that underlies or permeates through the whole natural and physical universe, and is therefore said to be both its "creator and ruler." As the supreme deity, God is worshipped, and "his" favour is courted by believers, who claim to have a direct or mediated relationship with "him." As such, separate cultures have developed distinct and particular concepts of faith and worship, which are the foundations for the world's various ethnic-traditional belief systems. In the Western World and in areas influenced by it, the term God is referred to as the God of the Abrahamic religions.

Concepts of God can vary widely, despite the use of the same term for them all, and these conceptual differences are the fundamental distinctions between various religious definitions. According to monotheism, pantheism or panentheism, or (in critical context) the supreme deity of henotheistic religions, God may be conceived of in various degrees of abstraction: as a powerful, human-like, supernatural being, or as the deification of an esoteric, mystical or philosophical category, the Ultimate, the summum bonum, the Absolute Infinite, the Transcendent, or Existence or Being itself, the "ground of being," the "monistic substrate," that which we cannot understand, etc.

According to "universalist" views, God is available to all, though often only through particular methods and traditions. Ethnic religions may believe in a "supreme being" but may hold sharply ethnocentric views of God's "nature" and God's "plan." Some may regard any certain conceptions and traditions of worship as false or "blasphemous" —for example the use of anthropomorphic mythology and iconographic depictions of God may be regarded as mere "symbolism" or else as idolatry.

What a deep question! After delving deep inside, I think to me, God is love... strength... hope... everywhere, in everything good and beautiful. A Father who loves me more than anything or anyone with complete and unconditional love, who, just like any other Father, is sad and unhappy with me when I make bad choices, and happy and pleased for me and with me when I make good ones. He hurts for me when I'm sad and in pain, and He's delighted when I'm happy.

God is many things to me (creator, healer, provider, shepherd, etc), but if i had to describe Him in one word... LOVE.

it used to be hard to understand this unconditional love, because it is rare in the natural world. it was difficult to grasp that God could love me the way i was - or even why He would even do such a thing.

i still don't understand this fully, but i have learned something from it:
God loves me the way i am, but He loves me too much to let me stay that way.

God is LOVE.
