Sure, I feel sorry for her. I feel sorry for anyone who is abused like that.
I feel that the police are getting more and more bold with their use of these tasers. I have seen them being used way too hastily in a few other videos.
People should carry their own cameras or audio recorders if they can so that they can be used in court against the corrupt officers. They need to be held accountable, and with enough evidence, they usually are.

Is there any reason this woman could not follow directions? Sure, he could have used pepper spray, but he CLEARLY tells her at least twice that he is going to use the taser on her if she doesn't put the phone down. She clearly chooses not to follow directions. He doesn't know if she has a gun or other weapon in the car. His life could have been in danger.
I am sorry for her pain, but I don't think she was singled out by race, and I don't believe it was brutality. This officer would've have done the same thing if a white, Hispanic, or Asian woman was acting the way she was. I live in a high crime area. These officers risk their lives each time they pull someone over.
I heard an officer say once, "It is better to be judged by 12 than carried out by six." I don't think this officer was out of line.

I don't feel sorry for the woman at all... and you can hardly even tell what race she is from the video.
1. The officer was told to get off the phone; but she continued to talk and ignore the officer... she had the audacity to say "excuse me, I'm on the phone" to the officer and then jumped to the conclusion that he was going to arrest her!
2. The officer told her to get out of the vehicle, but again, she ignored.
3. The officer told her he will use the taser if she did not put the phone down and get out of the car... (4 total warnings, and then as he started to warn her for the 5th time, he just tased her.)
I think she deserved it... heck, she was probably never disciplined as a child (like so many young adults and children these days) which is why she felt that she was ABOVE authority.

I do not feel sorry for this woman,,a police officer is trying to do his job safely, which means just do as he says at the time.He has no clue what kind of people he will encounter, doesn't matter if it is man or woman,if they are red, yellow, black or white,he wants to live another day also,a woman would just as soon kill you as a man would.I wouldn't have a police officers job and I think they sure don't get paid enough money for all the crap they have to put up with.

She had a suspended drivers license.
She was doing over 50 in a 35 mile zone.
She had a break light out and a broken rear view mirror.
The officers were correct to take her in. They were correct to taser her to stop her from resisting arrest. Her attitude was to throw any cheap shot at the police because they pulled her over even though she broke the law several time.
Any racism that was done was done by her. She is a racist that will do any cheap shot play any race card to portray herself as a victim that entitles her to be a criminal because she is black.
Any black that supports her is a racist criminal that can only see in racist terms and hates white people for being white.
It is people like that that do not deserve to live in this country.
PS I suspect by the way you made this question, you have the arrogance to say the cops are guilty because they are white. If that is true you are a parasitical bigot that is a taker and does not deserve anything but the worst from others.

No I do not feel sorry for this woman. When the officer told her to get out of the car. That is what she should have done. She will get a free phone call in jail.
Should he have ta-zed her? Probably not. Their was more than one officer on the scene in which they could have forcibly taken her to the ground and cuffed her with ease.
Her next traffic stop I bet she will get out of the car.
Officers have to look out for their safety first.

It didn't have a damn thing to do with her being black at all. It was all about her breaking the law and then failing to comply with a police officer.
It was like watching a horror movie. I saw it coming. I said out loud "get out the car". She didn't. Zap. I almost fell out of my chair laughing so hard. It a shame the cops finger didn't slip and give her another zap just for being a loudmouth punk.

No I feel sorry for the officer having to listen to people complain about brutality like you do.
You have a criminal ( yes criminal) she refused to follow the lawful orders of the officer. This officer does not know what she is planning or perhaps she has a weapon in the vechile.
He has ordered her to get out of her vechile and she refuses. This raises the serious of the stop to a new notch.
At this point he has the following choices,
use his pepper spray or mace ( problem with that is if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction it will not reach her or can get back on the officer. ( plus after spraying her the officer will have to have her cleaned up and she will still smell up his car badly form the pepper smell.
He can pull out his ASP (baton) and use it to hit her and pry her out of the car.
The tazer is the safest of all of his choices.
And the police officer did not cause this to happen, a women who was acting a fool and not obeying the officers orders is to blame for all of it happening.
Blame the right person

at 7:55:13 on the film the woman took a swing at the officer. She was belligerent and uncooperative. I do not feel sorry for her, if she would have cooperated with the officers and followed their orders this wouldn't have happened, i have been tazed before and it doesn't hurt that bad, it is like a bad charlie-horse. it has nothing to do with race if it were a white woman they would have done just the same. i like swo's answer by the way.

When you watch the "traffic stop" video and then the "arrest" video, it's pretty hard to have sympathy for her. And although it's not clear, I believe it stated on the page that she swung at the officer right before he pulled out the Taser.
