im muslim,but my bf is a baptist(christian)african american...he said he had interest to ISLAM since before we met for about 3 years.. his brother is a muslim,but all his family is christian. i told him that islam means good morals. and that islam is the LAST and BEST religion that came for us. i told that Muhammed Ali, Michael Jackson ,Cat Stevens(Yusuf Islam) ,Malcom-X and some famous futboll and NBA players become muslim.. he should start to read the KORAN,and im sure he will make an excellent muslim man,because he is a religious christian. im far away from him now,so i cant help him wit phone.. we will marry,but he hav to become a muslim first. i cant force him,he should want it by his own...so WAT should i do,how can i teach him? how can i help a christian to become a muslim::.

First thing is that tell him that by converting to Islam you dont have to Hate Jesus because without accepting jesus as a prophet you cant be a muslim... tell him logically that JESUS wasnt god he was just a prophet. Tell him that Jesus could've never been god because god never needs to sleep, eat and sweat... and its common sense that most of the christians are lacking that the offspring of a cat is a cat... offspring of a bird is bird.. but how come son of god be a human? its just a common sense... its written in Quran that Mohammad was sent to mankind to tell them that Bible has been misinterpreted by people!
ON the other hand all three religions are Abrahamic.. Jews forgot their teachings... thats why christianity came... christians forgot their teachings thats why Muslims came.. all three are abrahamic and all three worship the same God and all of them make around 4 billion people on this earth (out of 6 billion)!
So the thing is that you should first tell him that CHRISTIANITY and ISLAM are similar to each other in teachings.... but Islam is better... tell him to stay away from media and anti islamic websites.. because they dont know anything other thing except spreading hate by telling LIES. LIES and LIES!
Just try to convince him that we get life once and only once.. God wants you to take the correct path, in first years he will face some difficulty learning some Quranic verses but i think it will be worth of it as he will reach HEAVEN for it!
IN addition to all those things there are billions of MISCONCEPTIONS about islam.. for example this person
WHY NOT ASK DON... his one leg is in his grave but still he is spreading lies about islam.. he said that we worship MOON god.. thats ridiculous now... so you should first make him free of all kind of misconceptions from Terrorism to Jihad... tell him that terrorism have no place in Islam.. actually those who promote terrorism are infact victims of western terrorism.. i;ve met few people here in saudi arabia whom parents died in iraq.. they were so upset they had nothing to do no money no nothing.. so they wanted to take revenge from USA but thank GOD they were educated and never wanted to become terrorists!
Tell him that Jihad is not terrorism its actually self defence.. tell him that the best Jihad is to fight with the satan in our own self!!
So the conclusion is that:
Start by telling him relation between christianity and Islam then explain him the common misconceptions which are usually told by the lies of western "jewish controlled" media!

IF HE IS A TRUE & REAL CHRISTIAN... YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONVERT HIM
After reading all of the posts up above mine..a few of them were very helpful to me.. on understanding Islam! I now do finally have an actual understanding of Islam THANK YOU seriously!.. . Before I was ignorant & assumed that the majority of muslims were terrorists that worshipped Mohammad & called him Allah & hated Jesus & any other religion! Now I see that we both worship the same God & pretty much believe the same things....
Just we Christians believe that Jesus came to pay the penalty for our sins on the cross... & with out that we will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven....
.We still serve the same Lord.. just don't see eye to eye on how we get there...... guess we will all find out when we meet God thats all.
Now I can say I have true respect & an understanding of & for the "PEACEFUL Muslims such as yourselves! "
You just need to do something about the "Radical, Extremists" that are giving Islam such a bad rap by their acts of terrorism!

K first thing is you are a woman - no need to go down a koran hole. Second - michael jackson? women, have you not been hearing the news (he likes young boys) and the sad thing is, he says he is the natural father of at least two white boys (he was born black)and we all know he is molesting these children. All he had to do is move to an other country.

Teach him by your living example.Turn off your cell phone , quit your job , surrender your licence , do not read the newspapers , put on your burka , let him know the relationship is over because your dad will be arranging your marriage , speak only when spoken to and keep company with women as you walk behind the men.Hopefully he will see what a truly wonderful " religion " you have want to join.

Why in the world would a Christian want to become a Muslim? Christians not only have the good moral that Islam has but we have Jesus and the gift of eternal life that he gives, perhaps you should find out about his religious beliefs before you ask him to change. you might like his better.

please have him look at sites like www.islamway.com with out delay, as well as you need to go to www.islamicfinder.com and locate a masjid in your area and have him meet with other guys his own age to discuss islam.
As you know when he becomes Muslim he should give up dating if the bf means boyfriend (i'm old , i don't know these thjings)

I am afraid you confuse Islam with another religion/movement called Nation of Islam. Most of the people you've mentioned are part of the latter one.

You need to come to an agreement on what is the truth. It sounds like you are both part of a religion less due to personal research and more due to who you know and know of. The most crucial difference is the identity of Jesus. If you both in prayer to God ask Him to reveal the truth of who Jesus is and study it together it can be a force that joins and does not separate you. To honestly study Jesus you would have to read the words of those that lived with him and not those that wrote centuries later. You can read the words of Jesus in the four Gospels Let His words speak to you. After all if Jesus was a prophet of God would not God protect His word from corruption??
Ps unfortunately Moslems at times misunderstand and misrepresent Christian doctrines. Christians accept the obvious that Jesus was fully a man, he was born of a woman, he ate, slept and just about everything else normal humans do. But we also have to accept that Jesus described Himself in ways that applied to God. Those around him were clear that He descibed himself that way (even His enemies repeatedly tried to kill Him for that several times.) The Miracle that we believe is that Jesus was fully God and Fully man at the same time. This passage in refering to Jesus says Jesus, Philipians 2:6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross!
