I guess they have to do what they have to do.
Will it ultimately make a big difference, doubt it.
If there are people that want to cause chaos, they will find ways to do it and there are endless possibilities.
Sad - isn't it?

The whole problem is, we seem to be always playing catch-up. This week it's lotions, gels and liquids. What will it be next week?
In one way, it's a good thing because it gets all that cabin baggage clutter out of the way. We've all seen people stagger on board with a couple of shopping bags, a back pack and an 'official' bag and take up 'way more room than they are entitled to. It would be great if there was some sort of rack or bin where laptops could be stored (not sure I want to put mine in my checked baggage) and nothing else goes in the cabin except a book to read on the flight. That would certainly help speed up the security check process.
Since liquids are banned, it would be great if the airlines could provide bottles or plastic pouches of water once the plane was aloft.

Well, unfortunately the age of unharrassed, easy flight are a thing of the past. I am for security at our airports. Just look at what has just happened in England. Can you imagine what would happen if we lifted security. Anyone would have a very easy time in accessing our planes for whatever reason. It makes my skin crawl just to think about what that would be like. It is a terrible thing that we have to live in a nation that requires all this security because an Islamic sect of people can't deal with the western world. I would think that if they can't deal with it they should bring all their people home that are in our country and close their own borders and worship their "rock" at home.

for - these checks are here to protect us all and millions of other people in the UK even though they may be very stressful to go through. I just hope they do the same for trains because i dont want to end up being the unlucky person at the unlucky time.

Hey, whatever it takes to keep us safe.
I figure it's easier to accept when you live in a big city. What with morning rush and evening rush (which is anything BUT rushed), it ALWAYS takes forever to get anywhere. What's one more line to wait in? :-)
