Give yourself 2 hours.

UK 1 week
US 2 hours
earlier than your flight so you can be checked and so can your
luggage because for something as little as lipstick in your purse they will tell you you can't carry it on the plane. So if you flight was at 12:30 and you arrive at 12:00 thinking this will only take a 10 minutes your in for a world of hurt. Because you would have to get to your bags which is on there way to the plane. Once you it find and then put it in your luggage. That would be a total time of 30 minutes. You just almost missed you flight. It happened to me so try two hours so you can wait on the flight instead of the flight waiting on you.

It depends if you are flying domestic or international. For domestic they say at least 2 hours. For international at least 3 hours. It also depends on what airport you are flying out of. If you are flying out of LAX, Chicago or any other super busy airport, give yourself extra time. With the planes so packed right now, you don't want to take a risk and miss your flight. You may not get on the next flight if you miss your scheduled one.

In the UK it is now probably a week ..!! As the Guy that owns Ryanair asked the stupid Government today - Why are they holding flight loads of British holiday makers back from going to places like Spain & Portugal.. And forcing the Airlines to charge excess baggage allowance for the stuff that was in their hand luggage that now has to be stuffed into suitcases. Wonder if "YO Blair " has to experience anything like that coming back from Barbados.

Forget the 2-hour-early story.

Get to the counter one-half hour prior to departure, and you'll avoid the bulk of the waiting-in-line
