How much do you know about what he really likes?
Has he told you what he wishes for his birthday?
Is the problem that he is just a boy or a little man? If he were my boy I would give him presents fit for his age: cds, dvds, clothes. And I would be very careful not to make him grow up too fast.

I think because we have so many gift card options, that would be the perfect thing, that way he can make up his own mind about what he wants, also there is always the gift of cash which can make any kid happy.

Money. It's the best thing...that way they can get whatever they want. I'm 13...& that's what I'd want. If you dont want to give money, then ask him what he wants, I know thats not all "suprise-y", but that's ok, atleast he'll be getting what he wanted. Hope I helped!

take him out to eat just the two of you at his favorite place to eat..and hint around for what he has seen that he would love to have.....and that should tell you everything you need to know bout what you should get him for his birthday. :)
