I'm getting sick of all the Muslims who insist Islam means peace. Some say it means peace and others say it means submission. Does it mean peace, or does it mean submission?

Islam is a religion of peace in the same sense that Christianity is a religion of peace. Islam means submission to the will of God.

In pure language terms, submission, but just like christiantiy preaches a doctrine of peace, Islam does too. Therefore it can be said that Islam "means" peace.

Sorry if it is confusing for you,Islam is from the Arabic root "SALEMA" meaning peace, purity, submission and obedience. In the religious sense, Islam means submission to the will of God and obedience to His law.
everthin and every phenomenon in the world, other than man is administered totally by God-made laws i.e. they are obedient to God and submissive to His laws i.e. they are in the STATE OF ISLAM. Man possesses the quality of intelligence and choice, thus he is invited to submit to the good will of God and obey His law ie. become a Muslim. Submission to the good will of God, together with obedience to His beneficial law, i.e. becoming a Muslim is the best safeguard for man's peace and harmony.

both .. ISLAM .. in arabic SALAMA .. means .". peace ...".. and thus islam means "of peace .."..
and in Islam..the religion .... u follow the rules of God ... so it means submission ...
