My ex who I have not heard from since last year. Emailed me today talking to me and wanting to get back together. He apoligized for everything. The reason we broke up is due to the fact he disrepsected my father. They were good friends long before I had started dating him at the time. I am 25 a grown woman and I live with my family. But I dont know if I should go and start talking to my ex again. If my father finds out he will be hurt and and angry. But is it wrong to fall in love again with my ex and try to start a new?

Well no one can change the way you feel about someone but it kind of depends on how he disrespected your father. if it was really bad or even not that bad talk to your dad and tell him how you feel tell him that you think you are in love with him again and tell your father you love him and you know what your ex did was wrong but you cant help what your heart in telling you. Even though a boyfriend should never disrespect a family member you need to do what your heart tells you sooner or later if your father does not lighten up a little give him some time and he should come around! Just do what your heart tells you!!

You need to move away from your parents and get a life for yourself. After a year and he's still thinking of you and you feel the same.. You need to give it a try.
By the way, don't wait for your father to "find out". Tell him straight out if/when you two decide to get back together.

Are there other issues that caused this break-up that will still be there if you get back together?
Do you love this guy?
In what way did he disrespect your dad?
Is he willing to apologize to your father with you there?
Are you seeing anyone else?
If not, are you thinking of seeing him again because there is no one else?

I think you need to respect your father. If your ex is seriously sorry, he should apologize to your father. A man who loves you will do anything possible to make things right. You should demand that he respect you and your father, do not make it easy for him he owes you this.

Why doesn't the ex approach your father and try to make amends? Things will be much smoother if they work out their differences.

Ouch! Sounds like you won't be able to make them both happy. I would leave him alone because if you don't it will just fall back into you being stuck in the middle of the fighting. Not worth it.

No its not wrong to fall in love again. if i were you i would talk to my father and tell him that no one's perfect and that you really love him and you want to be with him again.he should understand.you should also have him apologize to your father personally.and tell him that if he ever makes that mistake again then hes gone for good.

well see if your father would get mad then i wouldnt do it cuz if you guys ever break up and you need soemwhere to go .. he wont be there cuz hes mad that you went back to your ex
