Powdered cheese will not have the same melting texture as grated, but it will have the same flavor. Since powdered is more dense than grated, I would use less. Try about 2/3 of a cup of powdered for 1 cup of grated. If you add a little more cheese than the recipe calls for it will not change the taste so don't worry too much about it.

I would use less. Maybe 2/3 of a cup. But I think you'll be disappointed because the powdered cheese will probably make your recipe pastey not creamy and melty like the grated cheese. Good luck.

Don't do it! But if you have too, mix the powder (the packet from Macaroni and Cheese?) with milk to make a smooth sauce, then add it to your recipe.............it will not taste great, but if you like it, oh well!
