You have to be pretty disabled to get disability for that. I suggest that a person retain an attorney and make sure all of your doctors agree that going on disability is they way to go. They will ask each and everyone one of your doctors what their opinions are.

Good luck....it usually takes many appeals to get on it.

Find the area that pertains to you, if you think that you, or the person that wants to apply for benefits, meets the guidelines for having a disability, and the condition is expected to last at least one year, then go a head and apply for benefits.

If you are applying for SSI, their are financial guide lines that you have to meet. You have to have less than 2K in resources (if you own a home and live in it that does not count towards your resource limit, you are also allowed to have one car, one wedding and engagement ring, and a certain amount of money set aside for burial).

If you still think that it is time to apply for benefits, print out a copy of the listings that pertains to you and bring it to your doctor. Tell your doctor that you will be applying for benefits and ask him/her to write a report that describes your condition. Ask the doctor if at all possible to use the language that is used in the listings.

If you want to apply for BOTH ssi and SSD, you remember that they are two different programs, so you will need two different applications. The good thing is, they will both use the same disability determination, so you will not have to provide all of your medical information twice.

Expect that this process will take you from 1-3 years.

Good Luck!!

yup my mom gets SSI and SSD for that. It takes awhile and a lot of Dr visits and referrals and sometimes a lawyer.

If you are incapacitated and unable to work, due to medical reasons, and if you are approved by SSI, you can get benefits. But, this takes a very long time.........

uhm idk, uhm, with the whole 6 wives thing, its called polygamy, and contrary to many outside beliefs mormons do not practice polygamy, we are against it, and we'll even be excomunnicated (meaning kicked out basically) of our church if we do it! so plze stop saying stuff like that, the only reason mormons ever did do that like 200 years ago, was so the guys could take care of more women, so less would go without.
