I'm from the south and let me tell you how we do it. Take a couple of eggs and a splash of milk (or buttermilk) and mix it together well with a fork. Next take some All-Purpose flour and add a bit of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dip the chicken in the egg mixture first, then put it in the flour mixture and make sure it's coated well. Put it in a pre-heated cast iron skillet with vegetable oil. Drain it well on paper towels, and YUM-YUM...you've got GREAT fried chicken! To make really good fried chicken there's no need to add really exotic ingredients, a good seasoned and fried chicken will satisfy anyone. I hope this helps!
