If you like word search puzzle books, that would be excellent, or music to soothe you is a good choice also!

The line wait time will change before you go next year.
The first time I was in a plane it was a small two engine 4 passenger plane. That felt kinda strange and I rode up front and was watching the school busses with the flashing lights on top of of them. It was pretty cool but still a little spooky because you feel like you are setting on a board floating in the air and nothing is holding you up. The wind will shake the hell out of the little planes. Plus being it flew so close to the ground made ita little more spookie.
Now the Jets such as you will be on will ride pretty smoth and you want to get a window seat. You will stay intertaned the whole trip watching the tops of the clouds and trying to pick out where you are. Flying at night you can see bright spots on the ground and it is just a large town and the citys look like the whole area is covered with little bright spots every where. The Ride is smoother because it is a stronger and heaver plane and you are flying above where the air is thiner.
Enjoy the trip it is not no where as bad as you think.

Well, you're flying next year, so anything about security lines is pretty much worthless unless you're going this week.
If you sail, yes, flying is much smoother!!!
If you're seriously freaked out about flying, then maybe ask your doctor for a mild anti anxiety medication. But instead of that, I'd just think about how much fun you're going to have on the trip.
I usually also take music (ipod) and/or a book to read while on the plane to help pass the time. You're expected to remain in your seat, with your seat belt fastened unless you're going to the lavatories, and you can only do that when the fasten seat belt sign isn't illuminated. Listen to the flight attendants and follow their instructions and you'll do fine! Have a great trip!

Be there plenty early. You never know about the lines. Assume they will be bad. There is nothing to stress out a first flyer worse than running late the entire time.
When I fly I make sure that before I go I fell really good. If you are thirsty get a drink, eat, and if you have a headache take some medicine. It helps if you aren't uncomfortable to begin with.
When you get on the plane be sure you have gum to chew, because it helps with the popping of your hears.
I also think music helps, but you can't use it until after take off. I always read during take off and landing, because it helps keep your mind off of what's going off. If you are going with school, maybe you will be sitting by a friend, that will also help ease your nerves. Just make sure you always have something to distract you. If you like crossword puzzles or sudoku, that can help keep your mind off of flying.
Good luck!

Take a flying lesson in a sprint Cessna - you will get to regulate all of those sensations you're averse to and it rather is the main relaxing you've got with your outfits on! After that an airliner would be no subject in any respect.

Relax... What is your fear about? Dying?
Flying is safest way to travel long distances. Then it comes the train, and the most dangerous one is car transportation.
More are dying / year in car accidents, then in railway events, and even fewer in aircraft accidents.
You can't live with fear unless you like it, which I doubt. Face your fears and you'll see, no big deal. You'll be proud of yourself. Just remember to relax and look for the fun in it. Enjoy the view from up there, the wonders of nature, and keep in mind that flying was man's dream since... forever ? Enjoy living that dream.

I love to fly. I think if you simply look forward to going to Boston and concentrate on having a good time with your school mates, you will forget about being nervous. And after you have returned, you will see how you really did not need to be nervous at all.

That's a very short flight so don't worry at all. Music helps overcome the hum of the engines and is a good distraction.

Just think of it as a rollercoaster, at first it's kinda intimidating and scary but once you're on its awesome. Just relax, planes are fun and you meet random people.
