I have thin hair at the top of my head. (Not balding, but you can kind of see my scalp.) I have looked for a sunscreen product for the scalp, but it doesn't seem to exist. Aside from staying out of the sun or wearing a hat (obvious answers) what else can I do? I love to swim and can't wear a hat in the pool. I have tried applying regular sunscreen to my scalp with a Q-tip, but then my hair looks all greasy and it's just annoying. Help.

Prevent Scalp Sunburn

The only thing you can do is put in the sunscreen, but just rub a little into your hands and work it into your scalp. Skip the Q-tip. There are some sunscreens that are less greasy than others, and of course you don't need much. Just make sure it's waterproof, then wash it away after you get out of the pool using a clarifying shampoo and conditioner.

Wearing a hat is the best , it not only protects your scalp , but your face and hair , don't like hats then use a bandanna or a swim cap

It may not be "cool" but if you wore a swim cap while you were swimming it would solve the sunburn problem. Wear hats any other time.

my parting always gets sunburnt. I try to tie my hair back so that i have no parting at all. Other than that i would also appreciate some advice on the same subject because i have ruined loads of hats with chlorine.
