Hey guys Im starting school soon and I am still not being able to sleep... I want to get good grades and be able to concentrate in school but I still cannot sleep at all I have tried everything from taking a warm bath, to drinking some warm milk, to excerising I really need to get some sleep please help me im getting desprate

also I have this thing were my mind focuses on sleep only I think that could also be keeping me awake??? but i cant stop

I have that problem.It sounds like you are doing the right things.They told me to make sure the room is dark.Otherwise I just watch tv or read and that makes me sleepy!Right now I am so tirid that I could fall out!

If you have tried all of the above, then try this; ask yourself what is happening that you are worried or scared about, be honest with yourself. Then, take a good look at those things and see that they will not change even if you worry or are scared.

Also, before you go to bed, about an hour or two, make sure the lights where you are aren't bright, dim them, that signals your brain sleep is to come. Don't do anything that will get your mind going; watch T.V., read a scary book, get into an arguement, etc., make sure you are calm.

Try lavender oil, put a dab on your wrists and temples and a little on your pillow before bed. That has a relaxing affect. When you do get into bed, make sure you are comfortable, are you cold, hot, or just right? Take some slow, deep breaths and close your eyes. Don't think about ANYTHING, just listen to your own breath and concentrate on that. Sweet dreams!

hi ballerinagirl!how are you?i will go to school soon and i have this problem too but i tell you sth that would help do not be worry when you are going to bed to sleep school has not begin yet when you are going to your bed do not think that you should sleep atonce be relax and in the morning you should wake up very early at 5:30 and do not sleep in the noon you maybe become sleepy that day but in the night you will feel sleepy and you will go to your bed .so i hope this help.best wishes and best dreams during the sleeping.good bye!

Have you tried valerian root or melatonin yet? 5-HTP helps too, but the first two are more effective.

well, you can take something like tylenol PM or go to the doctor and tell them, maybe it is a stress problem.

meditation before sleeping helps somewhat...

don't exercise before sleeping that makes it worse...
