do grunts still hump like we done 26 years ago or are they fully "mechanized", get to ride to the fight which i feel is better. my question is, do the infantry still "hump"?

They do, depends on the unit but even mech guys still ruck from place to place. The leg infantry guys ruck all the time.

interior the "New" Corps they attempt and do issues in smarter way and could use what ever approach is the suitable to get to the combat. I Boot Camp we accomplished 3 humps previous to the crucible and by the crucible we humped some the place are around 50 miles. So it remains there in Boot, and the grunts that I worked with spend many an hour traveling Camp Pendleton walking.

They hump only if there is a female marine available. I was a civilian working at the presidential palace in Baghdad, most soldiers have the best job in the world and yet all they do is complain while the out sourced civilians do all the work. Many of the grunts shouldn't be carrying weapons they are a danger to themselves and others.

I don't know, about now . We used to hump for months ,two week resupply ,90 pound ruck, chopper ride to the rear every month or two.

I wasn't a grunt, Devil Dog, but I have it on good authority that they still do a fair amount of it "Old Corps" style! I was attached to FSSG, and we even did our share, too (when we couldn't skate out of it, of course!) Thanks for paving the way...Semper Fi!

yes they do. In the UK forces we call this tabbing (T.A.B = tactical advance to battle area) just for interest
