Ok, so I think this girl is pretty cute. She is single and looking for a relationship. I met her best friend once last year. I've looked at her facebook profile and see that she lives on the same floor in the dorm. We like the same music too. Obviously facebook is just facebook, but should I send a messege to her before school starts saying hello, or should I wait for school to start? And If I wait for school...how should I go about meeting her?...and hopefully asking her out?

If I messege her...what should it say? I don't want to come across as creepy stalker, but maybe a neighborly kind of hello...errr...i mean i can't just say hi...i've never met her before...

Send a note saying you were getting ready for school and noticed that she was on the same floor in the dorm, so you just thought you'd say hi and look forward to meeting your new neighbor when you get there. (leave it at that)

If she responds (before school), just start with really simple chitchat. Are you looking forward to school. Where are you from, what'd you do this summer, etc. But keep it short. Keep some suspense for when she meets you in person.

And on your answers intentionally keep some of them mysterious so she'll want to see you to get those answers. Don't avoid the question, but you can say something like. I'd love to tell you. Let's get together and grab a coffee/coke whatever next _____. That'll be your in.

On the flip side, if she doesn't write before school, you'll be able to use the email as an icebreaker. Hey ___, we finally meet. (be humble). I was wondering if the facebook would do you justice, or something like that. Then, immediately, to the let's grab a coke, or if she's moving in at the time, can I give you a hand.

Have fun!

I would wait until school starts and then maybe casually invite some people from your floor in dorm around, just so you have some time with her and other ppl before asking her out alone as such... might be an easier way of kind of getting to know her.... could be like a start of term get together... ot get to know eachother better?

If you nothing to go on except for the fact she's cute and also likes Green Day, then you don't really have a good reason to ask her ou yet. Why don't you wait until school starts, get to know her a little, THEN, if she seems like your type, ask her out.

One guaranteed way to start off on the wrong foot with a girl is to come off as totally eager before you even know her. Put the cart before the horse, my friend.

send a message and then 3 days later, go meet her and just say hi

I think I would send her a message, too. I think that would make her comfortable, make it easier for you both when you meet, in case she does not remember you -- it won't be awkward.
