I have a advice column (not this site) and sometimes ppl ask me questions, that I need to further research as I do not know everything lol. Anyways, Sometime I'll quote something from that website. Should I give props to the website at the bottom of my answer since I got a line or two off of there page? Do I have to? Or is it just the right thing to do?

Yes, you should always cite (give recognition to) works that greatly influence your answer, or that you directly quote from.

You should identify the source for sure. If you are cutting and pasting, that is blatant plagiarism and could loose your position as advice columnist. Nothing wrong to give credit where credit is due-- just start your sentence "According to...."

It tends to be plagiarism is you do not site your sources.
