I gather you are talking about what to put in boxed macaroni and cheese, not making macaroni and cheese from scratch. I like to add one can of cream of mushroom soup, one can of tuna or a cup of chopped ham or chicken and a small can of peas. Cook the macaroni and add the extra ingredients with the milk, butter and cheese. Yummy and quick - my mom made this all the time!

when the macaroni and cheese sauce are made, pour it in to a baking dish and make small hollows in it, then crack an egg into each hollow, cover the egg with some grated cheese and then bake in the oven for about 20 minutes, the egg sets and it tastes delicious. You could also add mushrooms and grilled bacon to this.

After you make whatever macaroni and cheese you like, before you put it in the oven pour a can of stewed tomatoes over the top and make little pockets so some of the juices can run down into it and bake until the top is slightly browned. It tastes wonderful served with roast pork or meatloaf.

My mac and cheese is scrumptious, simple and not very good for you. I have no special recipe, I just cook the macaroni, drain, add a pat of margerine, a slab of Velveeta cheese, and once in awhile a little milk to thin it out. But who wants it thinned out? Haha. I'm looking forward to reading others' recipes for great mac and cheese. .
