If the question is asked politely and correctly then, no its not racist.
If its asked (as an example)
"Why do Paki Girls were headscarfs? " then yes Racist as the term Paki is a derogatory term.
Rather than
"Why do some Muslims choose to wear headscarfs?"
Its all how you phrase the question, Be polite and get an answer.
Be a Dick (see Ads the Devils questions) and get nowhere.

a lot of the religious/political questions on here are put in quite defamatory words - I am not always sure whether the asker is struggling to put their point or really biggotted!!!
Then there are the politically correct who answer such questions with almost as much venom as they are sometimes asked. It would be nice if there was a forum where people felt secure enough to voice opinions, explore thoughts and so on without fear of retribution or being put upon by others - from all sides. Maybe we would all learn something about each other if we listened as well as talked.
The lines between race, religion, politics are getting very blurred. That is why people have difficulty knowing where the line is drawn because it is drawn in different places for different people.

Political Correctness has gone up the wall, and people who follow it to the letter will think you are racist for asking a legitimate question.
This country has gone to the dogs. Your proper Englishman has less rights than a foreigner, what's that all about.

I think most people believe it's ok to ask questions. It's racist statements made by people who know little about what they're talking about that upset people.

Really because there is no term for being a religious bigot.
"Creedist"? Who knows? It might catch on.
It doesn't help that some people can be using the word
knowingly and others not understanding the potential
difference.

No question asked in the right way is racist. Sometimes it's not what we ask but the way we ask it. Respect should always be our first concern.

Basically its because people have not really thought about what they say/ask, race is not religion, and the lesser people among us, seem unable to tell the difference

My guess is that, if you were accused on being a racist because of your post, that there was a little more to it.
Why not tell us what the question was, and perhaps we can see if the accusation was warrented.
