Ever since I was about 10 I have wondered about this question. I was brought up Jewish, but as I got older I started to question all sorts of faith. So I thought about it. In Genesis, it says God created the world in seven days. Yet there is scientific proof that the dinosaurs existed for thousands of years with no humans around. Some people will say that those each of those days actually lasted for thousands of years.

So my question is: No one disputes the existence of dinosaurs. There are skeletons in every history museum in the country. So if Adam and Eve definitely existed, which came first?

I personally believe in evolution. But I would be interested to see what others say on this subject.

Let me just clarify. I do not believe in Adam and Eve. I am simply asking this question to see how people explain the apparent existence of them and dinosaurs in history

Also, for the person who answered that animals came first. If you check Genesis, Chapter 1 and 2 contradict themselves.

Excerpt from Chapter 1:

And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Excerpt from Chapter 2:

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature...

I believe that the seven days of creation were actually literal, 24-hour days. Animals were created on the 5th day and Adam was created on the 6th day. Then Adam was lonely, so God gave him a helper (Eve). So, to answer your question, I think that Adam and Eve both came after dinosaurs were created. Also meaning that the world has only been around for about six thousand years. I'm not a believer in evolution or "the world is thousands of millions years old" theory.

hi, the bible never really contradicts itself. its simply our misunderstanding of it. you see we have been taught traditions of men for so many years that we really dont know what the truth is anymore. sometimes you have to go back to the orignal languages to understand. in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth period. in the next verse where it says it was without form and void is a mistranslation, it should be became. then you would have a better understanding. God had already created the world and it had life ,because it was not void and without form it became. a day with the Lord is as a tousand years. each day started after the became void and with out form.
man was created on the sixth day, male and femal. did you catch that male and female. then God rested. that was the seventh day. are you keeping up. that would be seven thousand years. then, then, then he relized that he did not have a man to till the ground and he created haadam, the man. a totaly diffrent set of people from the ones created on the sixth day, rember that this is day eight. once again you have to go back to the orignal languages to find that it say the man instead of man. in job it talks about the dinorsaurs ,but a lot of stupid people think its talking about a hippo, idiots.the reason so many people are confused is because churches are so busy teaching religion that they never get around to teaching Gods word. do you think eve ate an apple? didnt happen. were you taught that noah only took two of each animal on the ark, didnt happen. anyway to answer your question the dino came first. if you want some real answers to thing that have never made since to you check out www.shepherdschapel.com they will send you a free tape or cd about the mark of the beast. they also have studys on your whole question. and they will never beg you for money they only want to teach Gods word.

It depends on whether they fall into animals of the land, birds of the air, or creatures of the sea, I imagine. But Adam and Eve lived alongside dinosaurs - in fact, dinosaurs existed long after the flood as well. That'd be where all the references to dragons come from.

If you're honestly serious about taking a look at this, consider looking through http://www.answersingenesis.org You'll find what you need there; it may not mesh with your worldview, but it's answers from a Christian worldview, which is what you're asking for if you're serious about Adam and Even.

God bless.

To hear of them read Job.

The Dinosaurs came in between Gen 1:1 a perfect Earth and Gen 1:2 the Destruction of the Earth.

First word in Gen 1:2 is And a Hebraism meaning more said than written!

Prior to Genesis – Dinosaurs

I believe that God created upon this earth PRIOR TO Genesis 1:1-31, 2:1-3.

I believe God destroyed all prior creation (Gen.1:2) to bring forth man created in God's likeness (Gen.1:26), with an UNBROKEN lineage beginning with Adam.

Dinosaurs..

Genisis says that first animals of the sea and air, then of land, then the creautres in his image (Humans)..It says it took 7 "days"..But it doesnt state the definition of "days", since there was no sun for the first 3 days, how can there be a "day"..It might just be used how they described it..So humans could have been created millions of years later althought it says days, alot of the Bible isnt ment to be taken Literally

It's a huge conspiracy!!! The dinosaurs are fake and Adam and Eve are still alive in Area 51. Jesus was in the UFO that was shot down and crashed in Roswell New Mexico in 1947, he was sent forward in time to rescue Adam and Eve. Due to their ability to travel through space and time, the "what came first" question cannot be answered without falling into something like the "grandfather clause".

Dinosaurs.

Paleontologists are finding new fossil records all the time which I find to be reliable of their existence long before modern human beings were on the earth.
