Mashed potatoes, according to their chart at the bottom of the page, are best made from russets, whites, and yellows.

My new favorite potato is the Yukon Gold. I like them for almost anything. I also like red potatoes for mashed or boiled.

I love yukon gold potatoes. They are healthier than regular Idaho potatoes. I also like red potatoes, skin on.

Use white ones, use electric mixer with lots of butter warm milk and onions for falvour as well. You will love it. Keep adding the milk til you get the potatos whipped you the texture that you like. You can add garlic and make garlic mash that way as well.

I like baby red potatoes. Leave the skin on 1/2 of them, boil, and mash with about 1 T of horseradish, 1/2 c sour cream, and maybe a splash of milk depending on the consistency you like.

it is the red ones red bliss yukons don,t work to well it is ok but none the less not great and idaho are strictly baking potatoes or french fries
