The responses thus far to you rquestion are frightening indeed, for they remind us of how much of the US is now controlled by Fox news. Last summer I read a biograpical study of Joseph Goebbels, who discovered and demonstrated in Nazi Germany that to control the news is to control the country. If you keep saying the same things over and over again, they will be believed, no matter how false or unfounded t hey are.

In the US now the neocons control not only Fox news, but also most of the what we see on television or read in major urban newspapers. They do so with their manipulation of the mainstream media and their maneuvering of news events (more "terrorists" are arrested in Miami or London every time the public appears to be wavering, and the ineffectual Department of Homeland Security claims credit!).

For a specific example of the "leaning" of mainstream media, we now learn that the New York Times had learned of the Bush administration's secret surveillance of US citizens well before the 2004 election. They decided not the reveal it, consciously maintaining that decision right up until the eve of Election Day. Such a revelation would almost certainly have reversed the outcome of that election (unless Diebold was completely in charge of the outcome).

Now THAT is what neoconservatives call the left-leaning, liberal media. US corporations control the mainstream media; you have to dig deeper to find anything resembling unbiased news, much less a true liberal press.

And yet--and this is what is truly frightening--neoconservative spinmeisters and swift-boaters not only exert control over mainstream media and manipulate and manuever the news. At the same time they accuse liberals of precisely this kind of control and manipulation! And they repeat it over and over again as your respondents have.

They attempt to control our news; then they put out the story that liberals are attempting to control the news. And people we know and love, friends and relatives, are hearing this on Fox news--and believing every word of it.

THAT is frightening!

I agree that Fox news is at the forefront of providing news stories with a slanted view. But the truth is that the other news sources do exactly the same. There is no such thing as a liberal media. Let me add to that by stating that there is no longer news media that supports proper information and investigation that US citizens deserve. 85% of all media in this country is owned or controlled by 5 major corporations. Corporations that have vested interest in domestic and foreign policy. If we view media/journalism for the past 50 years you will see and hear a shift in the way news is presented. Walter Lippmann, one of the founders of CPI (committee for public information) the governments public relation machine stated very clearly that "the news and truth are not the same thing". Unfortunately for all of us this comment has never been truer and we are all paying the price for such disinformation.

Non of the above. People who watch Fox do so because they believe it is an accurate source of news. This answer goes for all news media regardless of bias. Any one he claims to by unbiased is lying primarily to themselves.

So lets see, the only reason you ask this is because you feel about liberal media how conservatives feel about conservative media and you have no proof of anything, just your opinion. And you feel so highly of yourself and think that you are better that you take your opinion for fact even though it in no way has any facts or anything to back it up.

We just don't depend on Reuters or the New York Times, after all the Left likes to Manufacture the truth, when the facts don't mesh with your Template.

My experience has been that Fox is just as liberal as all the other networks. They're all using the same AP feeds.
