So, officially I am not anymore a member of the church. The reasons being mainly spiritual. The christian religion and all other religions felt something I don't need anymore. My resignation symbolises the beginning of my personal journey towards my own spirituality. PS. I know that this probably doesn't interest you much, but anyway I thought that this question might bring out some interresting opinions.

What was that song Queen had? Oh yea - Another One Bites the Dust".

Going on your own personal journey? What's gonna happen when the Devil confronts you? You can take Satan own by yourself? Now you are claiming to be a God?

Just a note - No One and I will repeat it - NO ONE will get to Heaven without Jesus. If you don't need Jesus - He won't know you on Judgment Day. You may want to re-consider your resignation.

That makes me feel great for now I do have one to invite to join my fast growing organization. I am also not a church member and have started an organization called the "NO"s. Can I interest you in it?

I started this organization about 1982 or 1983 when I started my search for the constantly consistent truth and it has grown by leaps and bounds. My friend I started it alone and I was the sole organizer. Today we have a total membership of 1 member almost which is me but I have yet to complete the application form. Not bad for almost 24 years of recruiting.

My friend I am a Bible nut and do study daily but I belong only to the church stated in the bible which is organized by the lord and not by humankind. As is stated the Lord added to the church daily in the book of Acts. Its great, no collections, no sermons, no laws, no gossip, no battles, and no Sunday go to meeting days. Its all about a relationship with My God and always turning to him for advice and for gaining knowledge.

My friend not like the organizations, my king and the kingdom I do desire to belong to is not of this world so I can not accept a king in Rome, in America, in the Philippines, or anywhere else but in Heaven. As far as I am concerned these leaders of these groups are just politicians in disguise following the world system and the ways of the world.

I do hope you see in my view you did make a wise decision. However again that is my view only and I know a lot may object to it.

Thus I will leave you with a desire that you have a great day, smile, search for the constantly consistent truth and do find contentment.

Being a member of a church does not necessarily make someone a genuine Christian. Were you a genuine Christian? Do you still want to serve God and have a relationship with him?

I do not feel anything yet, since I do not know enough about the spiritual journey you are on.

The church to me has always left me wanting. I feel closer to a god when I am out in nature, when I see the rays of sun falling through the branches of a tree, or feel the sun on my skin or the wind in my hair. This is where my spirituality lies. I have read on different kinds of organized religion and always come back to the same thing. The atrocities that are done in the name of these gods is horrifying to me. I live my life the best way that I can and open myself up to a higher power whatever that may be and that is the best I can do. Good Luck to you on the start of your journey as I continue down mine.

How I feel depends on if you've decided to keep a relationship with God or not. If you've resigned your church then sobeit but if you've resigned from a relationship with your maker than that makes me very, very sad. Having done that a time or two and having discontinued with God at times in the past I've looked back to realize those where troubled and trying times when I felt alone and somewhat hopeless. It's not about a church or religion, those are manmade things. It's about what kind of relationship you have with your maker. We can all use someone to lean on and someone to believe in! Good luck to you!

As Christians we all need one another! There are many reasons to quit going to Church! People getting hurt by either members of the church or the minister is the number one reason people quit!
You need to understand that we do not possess spirituality! Spirituality comes from God! The closer you become to God the more you will grow spiritually! Just as your body and mind need to be fed so does your spirit!

My husband and I left the church 14 years ago and we have grown spiritually by leaps and bounds...God has shown us amazing revelation that would not have been possible if we were still listening to a man tell us what God is saying.

I have written a book about my journey out of the church, entitled: "Parable of the Fortune Cookie." It is available on Amazon.com if you are interested.

I, too, stopped attending church 10 years ago, so I know how you feel. Been a Christian my entire life, but I could never resolve the issues of hipocracy, "backsliding", and trying to find answers to questions which have no definitive answers. As far as church itself goes, it is merely a place of fellowship with other Christians...the explanation is somewhere in the book of James. Worshipping God is something that is "supposed" to be done daily, wherever we are. Furthermore, my departure came after the realization that most Christians are spreading the wrong messages. For instance, the Christian responsibility is to spread God's word like planting seeds--not taking a sack of seeds and shoving it down people's throats. Just sprinkle and move on, and you won't turn off so many people. Secondly, being a Christian DOES NOT remove sin from your life--it frees you from the REDEMPTION OF SIN, which is why Christ died for us. He paid the price, so we don't have to, which is why I hate seeing anyone beat themselves up for doing something "wrong". The Bible is very explicit about us not being able to please God, NO MATTER WHAT WE DO. That's why we needed a saviour--we can't earn our way to heaven. This is where most Christians get it wrong--they preach something they cannot live up to themselves, thereby setting themselves up for hipocracy, which only damages the faith as well as their integrity. And last, but not least, the Bible says, "judge not, lest ye be judged", yet, this is what Christians do best--they judge others, think they're better, and alienate themselves from non-believers or those in the faith who disagree--thereby doing more damage to the faith and their integrity--which is the total opposite of what God wants us to do. Jesus Christ himself hung out with thieves and prostitutes in order to TEACH them, not condemn them. He also loved them and prayed for them--not pass laws to alienate them. I can go on forever--not enough bytes...HB.

Nothing. Spirituality is always a personal journey, organized religion or not. Having to ask this question is another start of your journey.

I think that you'll be bugged a BUNCH because people you know will start bugging you and praying for you. And now because you've posted it on the internet, people you DON'T know, will start bugging you and praying for you! I think you should try attending another church.
ps: Capthurst, the reason people beat there selves up when they do something wrong, is because the bible says we should strive to be perfect just like God, so just because your a christian, it doesn't give you an excuse to sin! I think you should Also try attending another church.
