Leave then where they are as moving them may upset them and they could stop them mating.
Make sure the nest box is ready and attached to their cage so that if the hen starts to lay it is in the right place.
If they are mating where they are they should not be disturbed by anything that is normal to them.

ok.
so I'll tell you this. My tiels mated and I gave them a nest box. (this was all in my room, where I have lights...and music).
the hen did not really like the box. She woudn't stay in it long, and the male would go in and kick her out and not even sit himself.

This went on for like 2 years.
Nothing hatched. :( She just woudn't sit on them for 21 days like she has too.

One time, she layd an egg under my bed. I found it after I saw her go under it again.

One time she was looking for a place (you can usually tell when they are looking for a place to lay cause they run into everything and chew everything) so I put another cage and put her in it (so the male would not bother her). I din't really cover the cage or anything. I gave her food and water and all that.

One day I'm sitting at my computer and I hear some kinda noise. I go to the cage she was sitting in and I hear more. Then I see the egg is breaking. ( I have not checked it before, because I'm so used to nothing hatching, so we just left her this time to get off on her own, not like there are infertle, but she just doesn't sit on them long) and out comes this thing. (I hope you get to see what they look like :) ) Anyways, so then 2 more come in the next 2 days.

Point is, if you have kids...you should move them. The hen will freak if anything comes near her eggs. I don't know about your male, but if he's into the fatherly parenting, he's going to freak as well. (Mine didn't sit much, but he was the guard) And this time, more eggs, and he was the one sitting on them! He's weird. haha

Also, if it happened in the last few days, give it another week until she has to lay.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My book says birds want a place where the action is which for me means the dining room buffet where they can see out the window all day long and they love that. Keep them as far from the door as possible and dont let the kids open the door that is close to them. They must be trained to close the door very quickly. Mine can fly free. Two birds are happy together and wont usually try to escape. I pet their tummies in the morning but there is no other holding. Maybe you have handtamed ones cuz mine wont come on the finger. I have parakeets.

I agree with Steve. They are used to the kids and the noise that comes along with them. If you move them, it may interrupt what is going on. Just a suggestion, but maybe put a sheet over the cage when there is a lot of action in the room that may upset the birds.

I agree with steve. I'd leave them there. I have been breeding tiels for years and I never move my pairs. They are on eggs with the cages in the living room..with the family dog running about. With the other birds in the house flying around..and with the children being children. If they are family birds..they need to be around the family and moving them is just going to cause them to raise a fuss.

definitely move them to somewhere they can have privacy or when they lay their eggs they could break them breeding birds don't like to be disturbed they like and need their privacy
