Hello friend,
May I say you have packed a volume of effort in your question !
If I may give you perhaps a poor analogy, if this was the game of horseshoes, you have thrown your horseshoe and it has landed flat on the ground next to and touching the peg.
Translation, you couldn't get much closer to the truth without getting a "ringer".

Friend, the heart is probably all, and much more than you have excellently described. Biblical, the heart is the seat of human emotion and will. And it is in that heart, that God has placed a beacon, a sort of Godly RSVP if you will, that instinctively seeks and searches for it's way Home.

The Book of God says that God has placed "Eternity in their hearts..." (please read Eccl.3:11). Friend, your very own heart is now seeking it's own way Home. In the same great Book of Ecclesiastes 12:7 you can read that "the dust (body) will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it."

What a great and awesome time for you to turn your heart to Him! I don't know where you are in relationship with God, but I'd like to offer what little knowledge He has given me, and make it available to you. Either in this forum, or by email.

There are many many wolves dressed as sheep out there who
want to deceive you and by some means try to get your money,
but friend, I urge you to get and have ready a copy of God's Word
so that you can check out what anyone, everyone says and measure it against what the Author of Life has already said. That includes everything I say as well. If you'd like, you can check out any answer I've previously given by clicking on my name and see if the answers are based on God's Word.

Finally friend, talk to God. He earnestly desires to have fellowship with you and call YOU His own. I pray to be of service to you.
Bless you as you proceed,
2 Tim. 2:7

Emotions are not created in the heart, but in your brain. How else can you explain why lobotomies work? The feeling you have in your body is a response in the endocrine system and the sympathetic nervous system to the emotion you're feeling (e.g. your heart races when something scares you). Emotions, Creativity, ALL COME FROM THE BRAIN, NOT THE HEART! THE HEART HAS NO COGNITIVE ABILITIES! IT'S NOTHING BUT A BIOLOGICAL PUMP! The reason the ancients thought it was so vital was because it was the one indicator they had to see if someone was alive, and therefore thought nothing of the brain. Death isn't caused when the heart stops beating, death is caused when the brain stops receiving oxygen and shuts down.
