Saab is swedish, but now owned by gm. It was started as an aircraft builder during WWll, after the war their had to diversify, so they started to build cars. They currently have the 9-2, which is a rebadged Subaru, and will be discontinued, the 9-3, which a convertible is built upon, the 9-5 sedan and the 9-7 Suv, which is a rebadged Gm, trailblazer, with saab distinct features. I have owned a Saab for several years, pretty good cars. Check their website, www.saab.com, for a complete history and timeline.
