It will be a rare find to get a well-bred purebred dog of any breed for under $300. They will be more likely to have temperament or physical problems. Most dog breeders make very little profit. An $850 dog could easily cost the breeder over $700. Don't skimp, and good luck.

Hey, I know.
Get yourself a nice kitten instead.
A morkie for under $300.00?
Try 'Fantasy Island' or the 'The Twilight Zone'.
Maybe a time machine to go back to TV Land and get one from
the 1950's.
Or...adopt a kitten.
Cheaper. Nicer. And...cats rule! :).

while this question was asked many years ago, I feel compelled to write briefly. my neighbor has a morkie and it is the worst dog ever. it is a nervous wreck, barks at everyone and everything and has multiple health problems. she is always at the vet. I think that these dogs are the worst of 2 wonderful breeds. please don't patronize these "breeders". save a shelter dog.

A so called "designer" breed is nothing more than an expensive mutt! How about you help out the mutts in shelters that can't find homes because people like you are obsessed with having a designer dog.

You said it, it's a crossbreed dog...you shouldn't have to pay anything for it except for an "adoption fee" from a shelter or rescue group. Check petfinder.com and search for yorkie or maltese mixes. DO NOT let someone calling themselves a "breeder" sucker you out of money for a mixed breed dog. The shelters are full of mixed breeds that NEED homes. They NEED you!

Good luck, I know up here if a pup has Yorkie or Maltese or even Poodle you're gonna pay at least $800 for the pup.

In my area we don't have small dogs in the local shelters so people will dish out the big bucks for them. Even when there is the occassional small dog in the shelter it's usually gone as fast as it comes in, people are always looking for the small dogs.

I breed Morkies, 300 is not enough for one. I charge 850, thats the cheapest around here. I could give you a still born one for 300, i was kidding about that but if you want a good dog you have to dish out cash.
