Cats: they are elegant, soft, they sit on your lap, and are very femenine

I prefer dogs, I've owned a cat most of my life and when I was pregnant I couldn't change the litter box. Although my husband did it, I liked doing it because I did it faster. Anyway, then when I had my baby my cat was jelous and would act weird. To make a long story short, I prefer dogs because now that I have a dog my dog actually plays with my kids better then the cat did and is so easy to maintain when trained properly. Dogs are so sweet and cats have a habit of being sneaky or too aggressive at times. But regardless of what I think you get what captures your heart.

I vastly prefer cats. I don't dislike dogs, mind you, I just like cats more. Cats are softer, cuddlier, and more intelligent. Dogs can be trained, but the behaviors are rote memorizations. A cat is smart enough to not turn itself into a puppet for a human's amusement.
IMHO, dog poo smells much worse than cat poo. I can handle cleaning a cat box and such, but doing the poop scoop thing nearly makes me hurl. That dog poo whiff just activates the ole gag reflex and off I go.
Right now we're staying at someone's house (we're in town for a convention), and they have dogs. The dogs are ok, but I"m glad I don't have any at home. Dogs are much higher maintenance than cats.

I like dogs more because I think they have more personality than cats. Also dogs are much easier to train.

I like both but can't have a cat due to allergies. Love cats they are so playful. Have poodles because they have less dandruff problems than other dogs.

cats because they're not as needy as dogs. the cats i've ever had also learn faster than dogs....for instance, i have a kitten that one of my females had on father's day this year (he's 8 weeks old today), and about 2 or 3 weeks ago, i noticed him getting ready to squat and pee so i stuck him in the litter box for the first time and he's been doing it ever since. dogs take forever to house break....and just when you think they've got it, they prove that they don't. cats are just as loving and affectionate, they're just not in your face about it like dogs are. cats say "you can pet me if you want to. if you don't want to, that's great too." dogs say "oh my god, oh my god pet me! pet me! please! please! i gotta get attention...."

cats bc they don't bark, they pretty much take care of themselves so i don't feel bad when they have to b alone bc most cats prefer it that way. and kiss vacationing goodbye unless u have great family and friends or can afford a kennel.
