So I'm in the supermarket and they have an in-house Sushi chef. I don't see anything I like pre-made so I ask him if he can make a JB Roll and he laughed at me...I was like wtf, you're a sushi chef in a supermarket...I should be laughing at you.

What gives? Is it rude to ask for JB roll?

What is it like going to a steakhouse and ordering a tuna sandwich?

I mean 1) he's in a supermarket and 2) he makes California rolls the most common roll in existence probably. What's so wrong about a JB Roll?

Actually JB roll doesnt stand for "Japanese Bagel" it actually has a derrogatory meaning "Jew Bagel". The sushi chef at the grocery store probably didnt know what a JB roll was.

A JB roll stands for "Japanese Bagel":
It consists of salmon, cream cheese, scallions and sesame seeds.
I have no idea why it would be rude to request one.
