no use setting lotion and sit under a dryer until dry. When dry just wrap really good and tight with a comb and then brush and tie with a scarf. A little oil sheen can be used but not much you dont want it oily, and I always flatiron my wraps so you get the extra silky smooth look and feel.................... setting lotion over the shelf would be motions wrap foam, sold at sally's beauty supply. I use professional wrap lotion only purchased by professionals, but motions is good for home use....................

What are you trying to accomplish by wrapping it? Are you wrapping it to put it up? Are you wrapping it to put olive oil in it to do a treatment on it? Need a little more information.
