A project with potential. Design a lightweight system using levers that could be built into a suitcase frame to weigh the whole package. The mechanical elements would come into supporting the unit and the electronics should be used in the transducer that gives the mass of the full case.
How many times have you fought with a full case to weigh it accurately at home befoer you flew off on a trip and ended up paying excess baggage allowances. I know I have. Make the whole unit cost less than %GBP and you are on to a winner.

somin i dids caled a rotary inspection system

it uses sensors to inspect an object. (a product such as a drink bottle)

a convayor belt sends the product into the system. where it enters somin like a circular platform and circles around. different sensors at different places checks the product (if a drink bottle somin like its liquid level, contaminants, if the cap is on, lable, etc)

then at the end it goes out o the system and into one of 2 sections, either a reject section (if its a reject product) or the accepted line after which itl b packagedor watever(but thats for someone else to design).

search the web, ul get enough ideas on how it works, look up pics an vids

hope it helps, hit me back if u need any info

Here's one for you! How can you remove arsenic from water and make it the least expensive way so people over sea's can have clean drinking water with in there budget.
Here's another one! Using springs build a motorized cart to help people move heavy objects from one place to another with the electronics telling you the weight and how long it took to move it from one side to another or come up with some other electronic use to monitor spring load and tension use the springs to move or act like a motor

If you are in India, you must be aware of the many head injuries from accidents involving two wheelers. The city of Bangalore alone is said to have 2.5 million two wheelers! Study the helmets in use and put up a poster presentation comparing them with an ideal helmet. Design one if you can.

I would suggest you design something that utilizes PLC's, Hydraulic, And electronic transducers to the plc to regulate the hydraulic system to move things of different weights and shapes along a predetermined path.
