She's at home all day by herself and I'd like to keep her entertained.

Amazons love brightly colored toys that have bells on them. My amazon has a toy that has hard wood, rawhide, and a small type of cow bell at the bottom (this toy is one that hangs from the top of the cage). He also has a chain that has a combination of hard woods and soft woods that also hangs from the top of the cage. They also love swings, rawhide chew toys, and "Furry Friends". That is the name of one of the toys that he has that ties up to the side of the cage. He loves to untie the strings. Also, have a radio set on low volume, as your amazon will listen to the sounds. He/She may even pick up a few words or whistles.

I hope this helps.

Rawhide & wood chew toys fashioned specifially for birds...large metal bells...swing...metal mirror...vitamin blocks...uneven perches. Change toys &, or, move them around often...birds are easily bored. Make a tape for her, using her name to get her attention & 2 or 3 words that you want her to learn. (ie. Molly! Hey Molly! Hello Molly! Hello...hello...hello...) repeat the chosen word over & over. Set your radio to come on at different times of the day (ie. noon today, 3:30 tomorrow). Call her up and leave a message on your recorder. She'll hear your voice & be delighted.

An orangewing is a wonderful bird--my favorite amazon...have one myself. He celebrated his 29th birthday in July.

Anything she could chew. Things with beads, wood, bells, blocks, ropes. Parrot toys are expensive..so I find it better to make them myself.
Things like this

As you can see..most of that is just little children toys that are strung together with ropes. You can get very creative and its way cheaper then buying them from stores. If you go to ebay and type in parrot toy parts...you'll find alot of good buys on bulk wooden colored blocks and balls. That's what I do for my birds..saves me a bundle and I can always be making them new things.

Go to this web site. they have great stuff, ship same or next day, and are very reasonable. You can get an idea of what they might like to play with.
