Christ cultist? Never heard that one before.
If you are so against what the Bible teaches why do you seem to waste so much time thinking about it? Alot of thought obviously went into your question. First off, no it does not stop becoming personal when we get together, that is called fellowship. It helps Christians grow, iron sharpens iron and so on.
Secondly, that is your own opinion, I know what I believe in and I am able to do so because I have faith, you can have it too. Does Winona know how you feel about her? You might think I am crazy for believing in a God I have not yet seen in person. Having your way with a picture of someone who doesn't know you exist. I find that a little sick. I am sure there will be alot of us Christians praying for you today after seeing how lost you are. Good luck in your endevours and I hope you find Christ.

First of all,you can call me a Christ Cultist, A Jesus Freak, or a Holy Roller or anything else you want to. Thank you, I am proud to be known or associated with Christ regardless of what ever name you want to identify me by. Secondly, I am United Methodist, the only time I have ever "handled" a snake is the time my son's pet ball python got out of his cage. As for dancing around handling poisonous snakes and thinking that I won't get bit, well. my "cult" leader God gave me enough sense to know better than to pick up a poisonous snake much less turn on "Jars of Clay" and dance around the living room with one in my hand.
Next, what you believe to be fiction and what I believe to be fiction are apparently to separate things. I believe the Bible to be the Holy Word of God. I believe the books that I read by Patricia Cornwell, James Patterson, Greg Isles, among others to be fiction for my enjoyment.
I have met God many times in my life though you are right I have not actually seen him with my eyes.
In closing I would like to wish you and your picture of Winona a long happy and fulfilling life. Oh yeah, and close the curtains when you're dancing around the living room with her picture, someone might see you and get the wrong idea, like, maybe you're dancing with a snake.
Have a good week and GOD BLESS YOU.

as far as I can see...Robert D... you dont really have a problem with the bible but with those who believe in the bible .Why would that be .You obviously cant be duped or probe never put your trust in what was said to you as some thing true like the Christians right ... like Men landing on the moon did you see that or hear that,, there are very few that actually saw that with their own eyes you know it could of been all set up by the GOVT. Or the Holocaust that could of been faked 50 yrs or so there wont be anyone around who saw that one either How about the Assassination of Pres. Lincoln that was fake to of course there's alot more here a biggy Nostradamus many people believe that one also no prob......but have a hard time believing there at one time on this earth was a man named Jesus. I tell you Robert selective reasoning is going to cause more people to be wrong than just about anything. At least Christians get around that by admitting their belief is by faith in what you can not see what is your way in getting around it?

Doesn't make sense to me either. Actually it makes a tiny bit of sense because, well, if you go to the mall with your spouse, you don't cease to have a personal relationship with that person just because you're surrounded by tons of people.
For the second part, I agree. I don't understand how anyone can claim to have a personal relationship with something that they can't even properly define.

So... to say... "do you believe in god" is sort of like asking "do you know what color Thursday is"? Both are nonsensical and both will produce meaningless answers.
I'm not sure if that answers your question, but... that's my response regardless.

First point...all of us live lives in public and private. When you are married, you aren't just married in private. Your relationship with your parents/friends aren't quite so compartmentalized, either. I talk about God with others when they ask me about it.
Second point...I'm not delusional, nor do I suffer from any mental illness. God is real, and He sought a relationship with me. Evidence of His existence is everywhere. Just open your eyes.

I think that you need to acquaint yourself with the characteristics of a cult, Robert.
Then, you need to acquaint yourself with Christ.
After those two things are done, then you will be granted insight into how awful your question is.

can you see the wind? gravity? air? can you describe the number zero? no, you cant. so how do we know these things exist? we have faith that they exist. My personal relationship is because of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
