It's safe if that's what you mean. They have to have a permit to sell food. They also have to keep the food at a certain temperature. Hot dogs are not healthy though. Eat a pretzel instead. 0 fat!!

I never ate one, but co-workers did and nothing happened to them. Once in a long while I'll eat off street vendor. Some of the food is actually pretty good. Just a general rule of thumb, if you see a long line at the vendor, chances are food is good and fresh. If there's no one at the street vendor, who knows how long that dog has been sitting there.

Is it healthful to eat hot dogs anywhere? I've had many hot dogs from NYC street vendors. They didn't make me sick. And were a pretty good snack with a ice cold orange Fanta. Can't beat that.
Papeversomni is absolutely incorrect. NYC's water is CLEAN. It comes from the Catskill Mountains. It is some of the best and cleanest water in the world. No one ever complains about NYC's water. She is mischaracterizing NYC. I would not doubt she has not been here before.

You don't know where that hot dog has been. It could have fallen on the street or be six months old or someone could have spit on it. You don't know the vendor. Why jeopardize your health. I don't even eat in restaurants for the same reason. Well, on occasion I do, but only for the socialization with friends. I'd rather prepare my own food. I know what's in it.

No food served in vendors are completely healthy. Fast food restaurants don't always serve the healthiest foods but HEY its convenient!

the hot dogs are fine
(i don't put the relish on them) , the pretzels are good- and the cast that only have coffee in the morning are great.
-there are people who seem to need to bash new york, don't know why?

I think it is okay and kitany check the water in Spanish Harlem its yellow from the tap and no one drinks it I don't know if its the pipes or something.
