Can you just use regular bleach or is it better for your hair to get a specific type? Like is there a hair bleach?

If your hair is short and you've never colored it before then I say go ahead and lighten it at home with Blondissima or another lightener (just make sure you get it all covered and don't freak and wash it out when it goes orange, it has to do that-actually a light orange color would be perfect for putting pink overtop, the color will hold better too if you don't lighten all the way) But if you have previously colored hair or it is long, then at least go to a professional to have it lightened (you can still do the pink at home) I really wouldn't attempt it at home, for fear of "hot roots".

Yes, there is hair bleach that you can buy at the drugstore. DON'T use regular laundry/cleaning bleach!! The hair bleach that I buy is sold in 30 or 40 volume. 30 is suitable for blonde to light brown hair, and 40 is the strongest for darker hair.

After you bleach your hair, don't use conditioner in it, or any kind of 2-in-1 shampoo, because it will create a coating that will maker harder for the colour to penetrate your hair.

Leave the pink dye in your hair for at least an hour to allow for maximum soaking in of the colour. After your hair is dyed, rinse in cool water. And when you wash your hair afterward, try to wash it in water as cold as you can stand it, as hot water strips the dye out faster.

No no no.
Please dont try to bleach your hair at home. You can really damage your hair, esp since you are putting pink on it afterwards.
By the way, my friend is doing the same thing to her. Her beautician dyed it blonde first and then reccomended her to wait a couple of weeks before she had the pink put in.
