what does it mean if after a date a guy kisses the hand?

I would take it to mean he likes you, but respects you. he wants to take it at a slow and comfortable pace. he probably would love you out right kiss you, but wants to be a gentleman. my boyfriend does it all the time as a sign of affection. Its a sweet thing....though sometimes guys use it to "appear" sweet and are actually just trying to get you to let your guard down. Take it as a a nice gesture, but don't let him push you into doing something you don't want to do later. (only advice of course)

He was being traditional. I like it when a man kisses my hand. It would make me feel special. Nowadays guys just don't care and have no morals. He was being a gentleman and he had respect for you. He sounds like a good catch! next time you go out with him study him and see if he is really real or just acting to get you to like him. But I'm sure he is real. Best of luck!

maybe he was trying to be polite
too polite if you ask me..i rather a kiss in the cheek (for a first date) and then a french kiss hehe
