We've managed to train the dog to stop barking at her, but now she's kind of cocky, because we kept disciplining the dog, but not her. I guess she thinks she's the queen.

She hisses and growls every time he enters a room, and now this big old dog is afraid of her! She's only 8 weeks old.

Things should be ok after a few days if your dog is one of the gentle breeds and doesn't have a high "prey instinct". The dog knows by now the kitten is part of the pack, but make sure you give the dog lots of love too, so the jealousy factor doesn't sneak in. He could be afraid of your discipline rather than the kitten. When the dog and kitten are together, give both of them treats and praise.

Takes times for any two animals to adjust. First, you stopped the dog from tell the cat he was there first so now it sounds like the cat is the boss.

You need to tell the cat to hush when the dog comes in the room just like you did the dog.

Dogs are pack animals; cats are not! Dogs want humans to like them; cats don't give diddley about what humans think.

Just imagine if you were the dog and your human brought home this "thing called a kitten" and first thing you did was get mad at him for trying to protect his territory, especially an old dog.

Time for you to stop the cat. If the dog comes in the room, pick up the cat and put the cat in another room.

First you should have started by introducing your cat and dog outside the home because now this is "equal" land so the dog does not think she is invading his territory. next, the you bring the cat into the house and see if they get along. you should keep the cat and dog on a leash and then bring them into a room(leashes is so they don't hurt each other) just do this allot till they get along. It will take some time.... Good Luck

in many cases once you're introducing 2 pets (even of a similar species) it relatively is stable for them to the two be youthful and so as that they are going to learn how to love one yet another over the direction of their lifespan.Plus young ones are friendlier. If neither of your canine are territorial then i'd say they are going to get alongside properly.till if the kitten hisses on the canine.i do no longer comprehend if it is going to or no longer, yet whilst it does then...properly,they'd have issues.stable success and that i used to be hoping I helped!

TIME my friend. It just takes time for them to get along. I had a cat for 2 years and then we got a dog. my cat HATED that dog she would hiss and swat at him and he would always try to play with her but she would end up hurting him. but now we have had our dog for about a half a year and my cat and my dog are BEST FRIENDS! They do everything together. They help eachother out all the time. And the sleep next to eachother at night.

When we adopted Moby: http://www.geocities.com/seabulls69/Moby.html , he stood up to our dog, Perry, right off. We were a little apprehensive about leaving them alone in the house while at work, but no bloodshed. Perry started easing off Moby after a few days. Now they get along pretty well except this little 9 pound cat still intimidates the 32 pound dog. Unbelievable.

'nuff said?

its almost impossible but you could just let one stay n the house 1 day and the other outside and keep doing this.
