Suggestion, Go see a different doctor ask them if it could be Autism or Sensory Processing Disorder? ask to be referred to a specialty clinic in your area.
Is he talking? or did he start and then stop?
My son has a Sensory Processing Disorder and when he was younger he was not talking or walking. The clinic we took him to helped him and I learned new ways to help him with his disability.
Autism and Sensory are very similar. But see a doctor and I don't think It could be nutrition unless he is very under weight and in that case he might has something else going on. Every child is different. Best of luck.

I think the doctor may be right, nutrition plays a big part in a baby's strength and growth and development. Does the baby do other things like roll over, crawl, or try to pull up on the furniture? If so he's probably fine and is just taking his time getting on his feet. My kids all walked late. Now, they never sit down! If he Isn't doing these other things you should definitely follow your doctor's advice.

Nutrition COULD be the cause. The body needs minerals for muscle contraction and bone development (calcium, magnesium, potassium) The body needs vitamins for nerve conduction especially B vitamins. Vitamin D is important for bone development.
Having said that. I suggest that you ask your physician for a referral to have your baby assessed by a neurologist.
Does your baby sit? Crawl? Push up? These are also developmental milestones.

well try and bribe him to sit up. i knew a baby once that didnt walk for a while and they took him to a the therapist and they said that he is afraid that he may fall off the earth. its a thing in his head most likley. while tryin to teach him to walk show him that it is not scary and maybe he will want to copy u or who ever is teaching him. and if the doctor says nutrition maybe u should look at the diet u give him and maybe a change a few things that u think may be causing it and see the effects

My father told me I did not walk by myself till I was about 1 1/2 years to 2 years. He told me that he always thought that I had a problem. Then he said one day, I just looked at him , got up and started walking.I was close to 2 years old at this time. This is one of the clearest memories he has of me.I don't know about the sitting down situation, but people walk at different times. It can vary.Hope this helped.

most babies start to walk around 12-16 months. If you doctor told you it was nutrition you should listen to her. she knows what she is doing. i wouldn't want to jeopardize my child's health.
