The first images of Jesus weren't made until about 300 C.E., and he was always portrayed as a beardless youth. How Jesus is portrayed depends on the artists or the values of the time. In this case, Jesus is usually portrayed as the dominate race and whatever is considered attractive at the time.

The 'image' of Jesus as a benign looking man wearing a long robe and having long hair and European features is the fault of medieval artists. In those days most people never travelled more than a few miles from where they lived and had never seen anyone with Arabic features. Painters depicted Jesus as they 'saw' him and as those viewing the pictures expected him to look. No-one was allowed to read the bible, certainly not in their own language, Latin only, so they would not have know how He looked. The bible doesn't actually tell us but it does say that when the soldiers came to arrest him prior to His trial and crucifixion, that he went amongst the crowd where He could not be detected/.Thus it can be assumed that Jesus looked just like any other Jew at the time. St Paul tells us that 'if a man shall have long hair it shall be an abomination to him, but if a woman has long hair it shall be her crowning glory'.
So, in summary, Jesus would have been about 5'4" tall wearing a short tunic down to the knee with a belt. He would be dark skinned and muscular. His face would be swarthy with probably a hooked nose and short beard and moustache. His hair would be cropped short and be black. The images passed by the churches are completely false.

Dont forget blond and with blue eyes. Thats just the accepted white suppremasist picture of him. Anyway, the devil doesnt try to depict Jesus as weak, its just that people cant see a really cool buff guy as being pure. Society has affected how we think and we cant get over it.

At the time Jesus lived, that was the style of dress. His hair was long because that was the custom. Artist's rendering of Jesus are trying to show compassion and mercy and sometimes don't come out too well.

It is an artists depiction.
Actually the type of garb is somewhat accurate.
The beard, yes. Why? Razors were not common.
Long hair yes, not many barbers then.
You have to remember this was two thousand years ago.

Only because these were in use in that time.
The real question could be about the colours: are they realistic?
