My son was diagnosed with Autism this past April. If you give me your e-mail address I will forward you a bunch of information as my husband's friend happens to work for an Autism organization and she sent us a whole bunch of information.

Personally, I'm not bothered by it. He appears to be improving in a lot of areas. He's getting ready to enter Kindergarten and already has his IEP (Individualized Education Plan) set up for him. I really believe that Autistic people can make it. They may need help in some areas, but you just never know.

Anyway, my e-mail is msjuliet@verizon.net . I would love to get this info out to you.

I'm sorry to hear that,no one wishes that for their child or anyone elses. It'll take time to cope and each day will get a little easier than before. You'd be surprised what a mother's love can do. Focus on giving your daughter the best possible life...just love her. Make her happy and she'll return the favor. You may want to join a local community support group. The both of you could get involved in activities with other families with special needs children.

Visit a good child-psychologist. There they will help you to deal with it. I've read about autism...and it's hard to cope with it if you don't get advice from a specialist.
