Both after and Before. A minimum of 8 DAYS AFTER AND BEFORE. It would be advisable if the after period be extended to more 20 days to make sure there is no sperm left over.

There are pros and cons to both, contraceptives and birthcontrol pills but if you are going to be married, then you should probably just use the pill... it'll make the sex a lot better!
* Condoms will make you both feel a lot less when you are having sex and you have to remember to use one everytime you do have sex (easier said than done).
* On the other hand, birth control pills must be taken around the same time everyday and take about a month to really take affect. Sometimes it can be difficult to remember to do this, and they can sometimes cause women to gain weight and can lead to blood clots, etc. You also shouldn't really smoke while taking The Pill.
Personally, I think The Pill makes more sense if you're married...I would just try to watch the weight gain.

Congrats!
Take birth control pills at the same time every day. It takes 30 days for them to kick in, so you should talk to your doctor about them now.
Other contraceptives are used before sex, but vary how long before. A diaphragm is 30+ minutes while a condom is 30 seconds.
If you have any questions, ask your doctor or planned parenthood. They'll be happy to help you.
Good Luck!

You should see your doc about this. Pills are tricky. Sometimes you can get side effects. There not something you decide to take today and not tomorrow. If you trully do not want children at this time you need to go before the wedding and start your self on the pattern of it.
Good luck!

OCPs (oral contraceptive pills.usually combination pills) are usually started on Day 5 of a cycle, continued for 21 days and left for the remaining period of your cycle till the bleeding starts again. you have to restart taking ocps from day 5. The days of the cycle are counted as day1 when bleeding starts.
Other contraceptive methods (condoms and diaphragms) are to be used just before the act.
