How do you lead a disciplined life, while avoid getting caught in the routine in regards to your religious/spiritual life, esp. prayer, church attendance, daily devotions, family worship. Do you ever feel like you're trying to get these things over with and out of the way in your day? How do you be open to the Spirit's leading while not seeming undisciplined?

I believe that every Christian has that battle every day.We will fight
our old fleshy desires until Praise God some day soon We will get
new bodies and be like Jesus. What I do most of the time is when I get up the first thing I do is thank God for another day and ask to be under
Jesus lordship then the day will run right. When I don't submit to Jesus
things may go OK for a while but it always messes up in the end.
I had rather spend fife minutes having the peace of God that passes all understanding than a year in the worlds way of fun.
In Christ in Love,

As Snoop would say, "There's nothing to it but to do it." If you continue to do the daily things Christians should be doing the Holy Spirit will help you keep it fresh. Sometimes it requires patience though. When I hurry through my prayer or Bible study times, I run the risk of missing what the Holy Spirit is trying to tell me.

Each day is a new canvas to paint on, each experience a new learning experience, the search for TRUTH is never 'routine'. As long as I seek truth then I don't have to be a robot following the motions to get the task done. It challenges my mind and spirit. You can be disciplined as we all are disciplined to obey the law, yet still enjoy and think for yourself

Through prayer. Prayer is a very powerful tool if it's used. Take the time to really pray--ask God's forgiveness for any wrong you may have done; ask Him to show you the right words to say and things to do each day that may help someone instead of hurting them; ask Him to give you strength for whatever you have to face; and always....ALWAYS give Him thanks for all the blessing in your life (even if you think you have none....YOU DO)!!

Discipline without devotion is drudgery. I give thanks for what I have, praise and worship God frequently so when I go about the activities you mentioned, I don't get the feeling I am doing something for the sake of doing it.

It is done for me automatically.
Refreshed minute to minute.
I am not into the works program.
I didn't buy into the religiousity teaching.
You know, churching, yes indeed, chuching for you and me, churhing till you come back to Him. By Him I mean Jesus, who did it for you.
Not that you do it for Him.
