My female has been in heat, i have kept my male seperated from her, well i let my guard down the other day, because it was thundering and raining, so i had both dogs in and forgot, next thing you know he's was on top of her, nothing i could about it after that, but my question is, she is only a year old and i have read she should be at least 2 yrs old before breeding, i want to know if i can still have her puppies papered and still sell them assuming she takes to him (praying she doesn't) i have asked CKC site but have not heard from them yet, does anyone know. Please help.

If both male & female are papered & of the same breed, pups can be papered as purebred. Apply for litter registration form from CKC and follow directions.
There is a difference of opinions amongst breeders as to when a broodbitch should first be bred. Your girl is still a pup...a teeny-bopper, actually, at 12 months. However, there's no sense in crying over spilt milk. If she is, indeed, pregnant, have her checked by a vet as soon as you know that she is. (Indications: vulva will remain enlarged; nipple-size will increase.) Vet can palpate at 21 days...won't be able to again until pups drop from under the ribcage...usually around the 54th day. Just in case: start her on a vitamin supplement, if she isn't already on one. When you know that she is pregnant, mix her usual food with puppy food, if she isn't on it now, and add a milk supplement around the 54th-55th day.

By the way, a mismate shot is an alternative if administered within 72 hours.

Good luck!

Get your dogs spayed and neutered ASAP. If she has taken, she can still be spayed and end any pregnancy.

And don't expect any help from the Continental Kennel Club - they'd register a goat as a great dane if you paid them enough money. There's a reason that it's referred to as the "CON"KC.

CKC papers aren't even worth the paper they're printed on. They're a fake registry that people turn to because their animals aren't eligible for any legitimate registry, and/or because they can't meet the requirements of any legitimate registry. Unfortunately, people see "CKC Registered" and think it means something.

If your dogs are "CKC Registered" and you're thinking that somehow makes them outstanding examples of the breed that should somehow go on to make more puppies, please think again. There are millions of dogs and cats that are killed every year already because there aren't enough homes for them. Knowing who their parents are (or, in the case of the ConKC, who their parents ALLEGEDLY are) doesn't justify breeding them and making more.

(Note - this does NOT apply if the "CKC" in question is the Canadian Kennel Club)

Yes, you can still register your puppies and sell them...but hopefully she didn't take, and if she didn't, then before you decide to breed your dogs that you probably love dearly, take a look at petfinder.com at all of the dogs that are already here that don't have anyone to love them. The world is overpopulated with homeless dogs, and lots of these dogs are boxers just like your boxers, the only difference is that your boxers have a family that loves them, the dogs on petfinder.com aren't this lucky. Please take into consideration all of the homeless dogs in the world before you decide to breed yours. Remember, if someone gets one of your puppies, then chances are they WILL NOT go and get one of the homeless puppies that are listed on petfinder.com. Also remember that just because someone buys one of your puppies, this doesn't mean that the individual will keep the dog for its entire life span. 1 in every 4 dogs are surrended to local shelters because their families can no longer keep them for some reason or another. If you allow your dogs to have puppies, there are chances that you will see one of YOUR OWN puppies when it is all grown up, or even one of your puppies' puppies listed on petfinder.com homeless and needing a family to love it. As to whether or not it gets a home will depend on how many other people are still breeding dogs and how much competition it will have from the new litters available through breeders (like yourself) that people will have to choose from. The question is...do YOU want to take part in the pet overpopulation problem? If not, then spay and neuter your boxers and love them and be loyal to them for their entire life!

Yes you can register the puppies with CKC - her young age doesn't affect registering the puppies.
