Eat on a smaller plate, so it looks like a bigger portion.
Keep yourself to 1 serving of whatever, no seconds!
Take the stairs whenever you can, instead of elevators/escalators.
Drink plenty of water, especially a glass right before the meal.
Ask yourself, when tempted to snack, "Is this worth the calories?"
Eat a piece of fruit midmorning and midafternoon. This keeps your blood sugar levels steady and keeps the munchies at bay, while adding a healthy serving of fruit.
Get rid of any snackfoods you have (give them or throw them away.) If it's available it'll end up in your mouth!
Avoid the snackfood aisle in the grocery store.
Never go shopping hungry! When you're at the mall or supermarket, take a bottle of mineral water and sip it.
Don't try to lose all the weight at once. At first you may lose a lot due to water loss, but expect only about half a pound a week. The quicker you take it off, the quicker it will come back. Slow weight loss gives your body a chance to adapt.
Most Important: DON'T THINK DIET, THINK LIFESTYLE CHANGE.

I have tried all of the different fad diets and none have worked for me. I'm not obese but would like to lose 10 or 15 pounds. So far, drinking a lot of water, watching in between meals and limiting them to fruit or vegetables raw with no dips..lol, a lot of walking, no sweets or soda, a few sit ups now and then especially when the weather is too rainy or hot to go out walking. I also use housework as exercise and when i tell people this they always laugh but I'll put a cd on or the radio and dance all by myself! It's actually fun and great exercise! Good luck!

Diets don't work. Some say they should be banned!
Why don't they work? Because you always want something you can't have, and when you cut down on food the body starts to put fat into storage!
Exercise sounds like too much hard work for most folk, but there is one very easy way you can control your weight.
It means you can continue to eat what you want, and stop when you are full, and enjoy every mouthful.
What I'm talking about is weight control hypnosis. It's worked for me and I highly recommend Michael J. Edwards at the following site.

It all begins with how you view food. You've go to stop looking at food as a source of comfort. You have to develop hobbies, interests and friends that will enrich your life that you'll not have to turn to food for comfort. Avoid people who lead to bad food choices. Food should be a source of nutrition and health. This fundamental change in viewing food has to happen for any long term weight loss.

Maybe one of these will help...
1. Write down everything you eat - you can appal yourself when you realize what a pig you've been.
2. Write down what you intend to eat on a given day - adjust the calories to be at about 1500 or fewer, then eat only this.
3. Join a support group like TOPS (TOPS.org).
4. Discipline yourself to not eat after a certain hour or after dinner.
5. Allow yourself an occasional "treat" - just remember to count it in your overall calorie count.
6. Remember that if you goof one day, it doesn't mean the end of dieting. Just go right back to it.
Good luck.

ok first of all you sound health/ thin to me. you probably don't need to loss any weight but i can help. so u say u exercise daily that's good but don't over do it. you should drink a lot of water i've lost weight and it was just all my water weight. (your body stores water and when it know you refreshing the water regularly it doesn't store as much.) you should also eat small healthy portions for each main meal. (about the size of your fist is good.) but also eat after exercising you done want to loss all you energy by exercising and not eating. balance it. basically fruit and veg. here's some other healthy choices- yogurt, celery, small portion of nuts, fish (good brain food) bananas (good before exercising, prevents cramps)

I am a strict vegetarian and I eat a low calorie (1500/day) high fiber diet with lots of whole wheat or whole grain foods and and I exercise constantly (horseback riding, hardcore innertubing--it's an insane, insane workout, yoga).
I've lost 20+lbs and counting. :)
If you want to know how many calories a day you should be eating, check out the calculators at www.weightlosswars.com, they helped me a lot.
