Without giving the immedate answer "no", let me give you an example. We have a crusader in the 11th century who doesn't even know what is Christianity about since he doesn't speak Latin. He slays a bunch of Arabs what he believes is for the glory of God. Is he now a sinner to get in Hell or a benighted person who deserves Heaven?

When people couldn't remember all the rules, God wrote his laws on our hearts. People KNOW whether murder is a sin or not, therefore they are accountable.

You do not mention if the Arabs that the crusader slays were warriors or unarmed civilians.

Not just any sin will send you to hell. Only mortal sins can do that.

Sin is a deliberate thought, word, deed, or omission contrary to the eternal law of God.

A mortal sin is a grave infraction of the law of God that destroys the divine life in the soul of the sinner (sanctifying grace), constituting a turn away from God. For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must be present: grave matter, full knowledge of the evil of the act, and full consent of the will.

Most of the sins we commit are venial sins. Venial sin is a sin which does not destroy the divine life in the soul, as does mortal sin, though it diminishes and wounds it. Venial sin is the failure to observe necessary moderation, in lesser matters of the moral law, or in grave matters acting without full knowledge or complete consent.

If the Arabs were warriors, then your scenario does not fit the requirements of a mortal sin.

If the Arabs were unarmed civilians, then your scenario probably does fit the requirements of a mortal sin.

Only God's judgment counts in the end.

With love in Christ.

i'm a Christian and that would not propose i will make it to heaven...i'm no extra effective than a assassin, i'm a sinner besides. i imagine human beings anticipate that once they convert to Christianity they with out delay visit heaven at the same time as they die. it is fake. If this human being has repented of their heart and has became their existence round in God's eyes than they have a straightforward probability at going to heaven. with any success they could have a fruitful existence regardless of the horrendous previous

If a person is mentally and morally adroit enough to understand that his or her actions result in the extinction of another human life, then they will be held responsible. In your scenario, the crusader may have lacked a degree of knowledge, understanding, etc. regarding his actions, but he certainly understood that his actions resulted in the extinction of a human life.

Perhaps abortion would be a better case study for this discussion. If a pregnant woman extinguishes the life of another human being but doesn't fully get the concept of what she's done, she's still mentally and morally adroit enough to be held responsible for her actions.

Your example is not murder. They defended their religion. To murder is to lie and wait.
We all go to Heaven to be judged. Murderers can no have salvation in the flesh. But, must go to Heaven, to God, to be judged by God. It is up to God whether That murderer stays in Heaven, or over comes.

If the person is a christian then they would know that murder is a sin. If it is done under the context of war, well... there's a difference. Christians ask forgiveness and it is given freely.
