I don't understand. If you do not love the Lord, and you are not trying to love him, why even bother coming to this category? People come here to learn more about the Bible and ask questions, or answer peoples questions and it seems like the ones that answer some of them are atheists and not realizing that you are blaspheming against the Holy Spirit.

Yes, sometimes it looks like there are more atheists here, especially today (Sunday).

To many believers it seems like they treat the "religion & spirituality" forum as a mission to try to dissuade others from their faith.

Why do they appear to be picking on those who have faith? What is in it for them? Some atheists are saying that they are smarter than people of faith. Maybe being argumentative is really a type of mental fencing for them.

Some atheists admit to being "instigators" & seem to like a "good fight."

Wouldn't you agree that this forum puts new meaning to the saying... "to fight the good fight." LOL

IMHO, If the answers of those who see things differently are sincere & not vulgar or put-downs, then I feel that I'm getting valuable insight into how others think, which actually helps clarify my own thoughts. Don't you agree that being able to read different points of view makes Yahoo Answers more interesting?

Bria,
"Why does it seem like there are more atheists in this category than actual Christians??"
Any actor will tell you, it's easier to play the bad guy, than it is to play a good guy. The latest one I heard that from was Sir Ian McKellan as he answered a question about Magneto and Gandalf.

"People come here to learn more about the Bible and ask questions, or answer peoples questions and it seems like the ones that answer some of them are atheists and not realizing that you are blaspheming against the Holy Spirit."
You realize that people come here for all kinds of reasons. One reason is to attack Christians.

You do know I hope, that we are in a war? The war is between God's chosen and those spirits that are under the devils rule. So when you see a 'blaspheming ' question, you might use some discernment and recognize that it is most likely not said out of ignorance, but said out of guidance by the enemy.

It is to wake up the robot that Satan influenced that I might use strong language. So if you want to know how to battle the forces of evil, ask God to use you. Otherwise you will be confused by the need of forceful language when dealing with those that are blind.

Remember, it's not only the one you are addressing that is reading these messages, but also those that need to see it. They want to think that Christians must allow themselves to be abused. That we are fools and always playing the fool. But don't you know that there is power in the Gospels?
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Bria, Use the power God gives us to stand against the enemy. If you cannot, then you are not called to do so, or you have faith issues. Either way, even if you have to write me an angry retort, get to it. There isn't much time!

That's because the category is not "Christianity", it is "Religion and Spirituality." This is by no means a christian-only section. I am actually surprised that you didn't realize that. Also, they don't know they are "blaspheming against the Holy Spirit" because they don't believe in it. If you don't believe in something, say a ghost or ufo's, then they won't affect you, right? Same goes for them, and you as well. Athiests come into this category to answer questions, just like you, and as with science, if you don't have a well-rounded sample to take results from, then the results will be biased. Since most athiests believe in science over religion, I wonder if they are doing it unconsciously.

In this category, this is not only open for Christians. Any body can ask any question to clear their doubts otherwise they will not be here. I don't understand why most of the Christians do not like to hear different opinion. If they are real Christians, they should try to help people by clearing their doubts. As without clearing their doubts, they will not increase their faith. Since young, I like to go to church as I can find peacefulness in church. However, I don't believe certain things in the bible. I always discuss with my christian friend and none of them can give me the perfect answer. Thus until now, I still seek for a suitable religion. I always study bible, Buddhism book in order to choose a suitable religion for me. Therefore, I hope Christians friends can help atheists to clear their doubts by sincerely answering their question rather than insulting them to go to hell. This is not the right way. This will even give the atheists the bad impression of Christianity.

Come on now , are you going to tell me that yahoo answers is the best place to learn about god and the bible. From what I recall Matthew 6:5 thru 7 says not to stand and pray in the synagogues or on the streets but to do it in secret in your room with the door shut. THis is the internet and there are millions of people from all over the world with different beliefs and likes and dislikes surfing around for entertainment. The place to LEARN about faith is not in answers but in church or a christian web site dedicated to faith. And about atheists blaspheming against the Holy Spirit how can they be if they dont believe to begin with? Since this is not a members only category everyone in the world has the same right to come here as anyone else and just because they dont agree with your beliefs doesnt mean they are not curious or have questions. You see I am not an atheist but I dont believe in god I believe in myself but i still like to read the bible because I dont like to be ignorant to other peoples beliefs I feel everyone is right if that is what they truly believe even if it isnt what I might believe. And if i did believe in god I certainly wouldnt be all up in the internet I would be reading the bible or doing things for the church. In fact James 1:27 says religion that is pure and undefiled before god and the father is this to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep onself unstained from the world. I have yet found where the bible says anything about the internet being sacred and only for christians. Relax and ignore what you dont agree with and smile at what you do. Life is to short to be getting upset over other peoples beliefs or activities.

Hi Bria,

The category is religion and spirituality.... Well, that's where atheists fit in! I don't agree with them either, but the fact of the matter is.... You have an opinion and so do they!

Try to look at the big picture! Christianity is the largest form of religion, however, Christians are still the minority! 67% of the world population doesn't see it the way you do. Its hard to swallow, but our beliefs are blasphemy to the majority of the world! Lighten up, and accept it for what it is..... Freedom of religion and Freedom of speech.

Just because someone else has different beliefs, It doesn't make them wrong.... After all, we call it Faith.... You cant put a "right or wrong" label on faith.... Unless you have become a right wing nut-job bible thumper!

Over 200 years ago, people came to this country for one major reason.... To escape religious persecution. You know, to believe in what ever religion they want to! The same way that you do today!

I am an agnostic theist, which means I believe in god, but do not think he can be defined or known in human terms.

I visit this forum to gain perspectives from others with different views.

Each of us can only glimpse a part of the truth. The only way to see more is to open your mind and heart to the views of others.

The more I know about the bible, koran, and other religous texts, the greater my insight into man and his beliefs.

I've posted some great bible links for you below - take a look...

Enjoy,
JoeTho

This is not the "christian only" section. This is an open forum for people of all kinds to ask and answer questions on all things religion or spiritual. Maybe once you get out of school, and into real life, you'll realize, life is full of people not exactly like you.

How can you on one hand claim this section has many atheists and at the same time claim it is intended for Christians?

Do you not see the contradictions in that statement?

And, an explanation for why atheists are here. To help illogical people develop logic so they can better understand there is no credible evidence to support God belief.

And, we do not charge you for doing so. Which makes us more charitable than Christians.

Christianity is not the Only religion, nor is the opinion of Christians more valuable than those who believe otherwise. To those who do not follow your belief, the judgment about others that you make, that their opinions are blasphemy, has absolutely no meaning.

Perhaps it would be better for you to consider NOT asking a question if you aren't ready to accept the answer.
