Well, Studies have shown that life started with a single cell organism. This was figured by the adaptation that they grew to multiple cells which were mammals. So the correct answer would be "The chicken came before the egg.

This is another one of those "hardly worth answering" questions, but the fact of the matter is the egg came first.
In fact, creatures (like dinosaurs) were laying eggs millions and millions of years before there were chickens.

the chicken,.....
they have to sit on the eggs and keep them warm in order for them to hatch...
and being as God just popped up out of nowhere, its very possible that the first chicken did too and laid an egg to start the whole thing off....

well logic would dictate it would have to be the chicken people forget whats involved in the hatching of an egg the egg must be kept warm and it must be turned over regularly to keep chick from sticking to the shell so there you have it the answer to an age old question my god i really do know it all scary lol
